Hesitant at first but it’s working quite well!
I had bought a new gpu but I didn’t have the wire needed to hook up to. Was weary about it as I’m still fairly new at pc building. So far it works as intended and haven’t any issues so far. Will update as time goes on but so far, it works great!Update: June 17thNo issues with it. Legitimately surprised how well it’s held up. Definitely will buy again!

life saver
Worked perfectly for an older 800 watt psu to power a 2080 super GPU. Make sure your psu is large enough to power what you adapt to thou. Specifications for power are easy enough to find for everything pc related. This connector while valuable to a pc builder will let you connect incorrect voltages. Its not magic, its mechanical wiring. Know what your doing before you do it!

6 to 8 pin converter
Probably the best solution to power a GPU requiring an 8 pin PCIE port.Do know that a 6 pin connector only works for 75 Watts, and an 8 pin works for 150 Watts.Since you're still only be having 3 ground wires, you should make sure you're not going too far over the 75 maximum rated watts.Eg: if your GPU is in the first PCIE slot, it gets 75 Watts from that slot.If it has an additional 8 pin connector, with a 6 pin to 8 pin converter plug, it should not run much above 150 Watts (vs 225Watts on a true 8 pin connector), or errors might occur (unless you have a really good PSU).This plug works well, and I'm happy about it.

It adapts from 6-pin to 8-pin PCIe power
It does exactly what it says does, it adapts from a 6-pin PCIe power cable to an 8-pin. There's not much more to it than that as a product.I would be very hesitant of doing so, by the way. The 6-pin power cables are only officially rated for 75W, where as 8-pin cables are rated for 150W. The power supply I'm using is in an HP proprietary design and can do 210W on a single 6-pin cable, so there's not really a concern in my particular use case, but this is absolutely something to be aware of as using this adapter could be out of spec for your power supply.Either way, the product does what it promised to do and was delivered in about 12 hours from ordering. Now I can use a Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics card in an older HP Z workstation.

Lucky it was a two pack
The first one I tried would not fully engage the power supply plug, the second one fit great. Meh, it works now.
