The adapter sticks out barely enough to grab, but it does not seem that it would be accidently pulled or knocked out as the card goes into or comes out of it's backpack-compartment. If it was being pulled out of a glove-tight neoprene sleeve I would be a little more worried but I think it would be ok. I like the fact that it is blue; I will notice if it's missing. This is only an adapter, so it's only useful for situations where a normal micro-schd-card-to-schd-card-slot adapter sticks out too far, like some macbooks and some tablets. The sdxc card bus on this laptop is just usb 2.0, so the card is slowed, but that is not the adapter's fault. More recent mac portables use the sdxc/sdhc card on a faster bus (pcie?) so the speed is better. Review: Micro SD card won't go inside adapter. - PRO: Adapter fits inside apple MacBook Air (Mid 2012) just perfectly.
