✨ Cast Your Dreams into Reality! ✨
EpoxAcast 690 is a clear casting epoxy resin designed for a wide range of industrial and artistic applications. With a low viscosity for easy mixing, a working time of 5 hours, and a cure time of 24 hours, it produces durable, clear castings with negligible shrinkage. This epoxy is not moisture sensitive, making it suitable for humid environments, and can be colored with UVO or IGNITE colorants.

Great clear epoxy. Requires a little patience.
Very good product. It requires two things to work properly:1) Shake the epoxy bottle well before each use. Not sure why this important but it is.2) Measure both the epoxy and the hardener BY WEIGHT 10:3 !It takes about 48 hours to set completely. Users, who complain about the epoxy never setting, didn't do the wight ratio correctly.

So far I'm fairly pleased with my purchase
I've been experimenting with this Epoxy for a little while now. So far I'm fairly pleased with my purchase. I still don't have the hang of it yet but I'm figuring it out slowly. For anyone who's just starting to get into making things out of resin there are a few key things to know. One, heat is key when getting the air bubbles out after mixing. So a hair dryer or sunlight will go a long way when you want nice clear resin. Two, make sure you mix very thoroughly. Sometimes it can take a little while but it's worth it when the resin comes out crystal clear and without any oil like streaks running through it. Three, a digital scale, that can measure at least to the tenths, is recommended when mixing. The instructions are simple to follow so as long as you mix the right amounts then they should come out just fine. Four, the shinier the mold the shinier the result. If it comes out clouded then you will need to polish it. Best do that outside and with a respirator to keep from breathing in the dust. And Five, sometimes it might take longer to dry than you want. So letting it cure for at least 2 days will ensure that it will be nice and hard when you remove it from the mold. Oh, and if you use a hard plastic mold, like a paint pallet or the plastic ball that those 25 cent toys come in, then a few good taps against a hard surface, upside down, should pop them free.

Best clear resin out there!
One of the best clear resins out there, it hardens super hard! Definitely my favorite clear resin out there; and I did so so so much research on this. $50 is pretty expensive, but $50 for the size of this is actually a very good deal compared to other resins. I tried another resin that I bought from hobby lobby or some other art store and it was like play dough due to its softness. It didn’t harden at all. reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was because of a slow cure time. The advertised cure times are usually longer than that in my experience. I had to wait multiple days for it to fully harden and I was a little upset with that and contacted smooth on. They said it could be many factors. I was curing my resin inside my house and the temperature was pretty normal so I should expect longer cure times than stated. However, I think this is a problem with all epoxy resins. It often states a cure time but usually takes longer than that (in my experience). If you want crystal clear and a resin that cures like a rock, this is your choice. Just be patient (unlike me) and wait 3 or 4 days until you touch it so you know that it is 100% cured. On so many molds (probably near 20), I demolded after like 24 hours or sometimes even over night and I ruined and bent my molds. I was just super excited to see the coloring effects and the Petri dish effects I tried. It is super thrilling to see how good your experimentation was. And All praise and thanks is due to Allah.

Great resin to encase an object in crystal clear
Great resin to encase an object in crystal clear, durable, and UV resistant material! Doesnt smell too bad when mixing, like a mild spray paint. But make sure to work in a well ventilated area!Make sure to buy mixing cups, you absolutely need to mix this material by weight using a scale or balance. If you are doing multiple pours, make sure the mixing ratio, down to the milligram, is always the same so you dont see the layers. To shine this up, sand from 120->2000 (Dry sand 0->~250, wet sand 250 and up), then polish with a buff pad and microfiber towel! Make sure you have an N95 rated respirator whenever you sand anything.Great product, will buy again for all my resin needs.

Three Stars
Very clear but takes about 48 hours to completely set up.

Really Clear And Easy
The best "clear" material I've tried for casting. And 'clear' is really clear. The only, slightest drawback, is that the stuff does take 24-48 hours to cure/harden. Thinner stuff takes longer. It performed exactly as the directions suggested. I used a toothpick to chase away some bubbles-- I had plenty of time to do that in. There was no odor. One must certainly observe the usual cautions-- ventilation is a good thing and gloves are a must! I would throw in eye protection because things do get flipped around. The need of a gram scale is also a must! It also says there is a limited shelf life-- but I planned for that by making several molds to cast many of the same thing at one time. I also made use of their "life extender" can of dry gas.

but I've received great CLEAR results
Tough to work with as first timer, but I've received great CLEAR results. If you're looking for CLEAR resin with little bubbles, choose this. It takes a bit over 24 hours to cure, but the results are unmatched.

Doesn't set according to cure times
To begin, I use Smooth On products all the time. I generally recommend their products for their consistency and general ease of use, but this eopxy is awful. I measured the Part A and Part B precisely (again, not my first rodeo) and 48 hours after the expected cure time it still isn't setting. Save yourself a headache, get a different product.
