I race cars and go-karts that will do a number on your hands without proper protection. I was never a fan of the padded and chunky racing gloves on the market so I decided to go thin. These gloves, I would presume, have been placed well outside of their comfort zone dealing with the rough surface of karts and constant sliding and friction doesn't do it any favours. But it held up great. I still use these gloves for racing and they remain my favourite pair to date. The gloves may be ever so slightly tighter than expected, though that's what I preferred when searching.
