One person?** A: One person is all it takes. The first time is took longer just figuring where to lift the cap. Now it takes me about 1/2 hour at most to remove the top off my Ford F150 with a 6.5 foot box. That is from the time I start getting the cap clamps off until the cap is raised off the truck. This lift works very well. It amazes me how easy it if to lift it. **Q: Could the hardware be installed through ceiling sheetrock directly into joists?** A: If you have a truss system- I would not screw lags directly into the bottom chord of a truss. I would rather run 2 boards on TOP of the bottom chords (above the truss bottom), spanning multiple chords attach the lags to them.
