Conair INFINITIPRO Tourmaline 1 1/2-Inch Ceramic Curling Iron, 1 ½ inch barrel produces soft waves – for use on medium and long hair

My daughter has shoulder length hair, and this curled her hair very nicely. 3/4 length was perfect. Heated up very quickly. Got nice and hot. By the time I had wrapped the hair, it was curled. Eliminated frizz and left the hair shiny. LOVE the included heat protective case for easy storage and travel. Love the on/off and heat buttons. Love the swivel cord. Cord length is longer than some, but not really long. Love the safety off feature after an hour. I love the clamp on the curling iron. I don't understand why you would buy a wand--why would I want my hands doing all the work of wrapping the hair when the clamp does it for me?! Thank you for a great product!

I purchased the 1.5" barrel curler on Amazon for $19. It's a great value for the price and it does what it says: gives big loose curls/waves. I already have a 1" barrel curler which creates much tighter curls but wanted a curler that created bigger volume/looser curls and this product does that. Pros: - Heats up quickly: I think there are 3 heat settings so if you have fragile/delicate hair or harder to curl hair, you can choose the right setting for your curls. My hair requires the highest heat setting to really keep a curl. - Comes with heat protective shield. I love this and specifically looked for a curler that came with this because I wanted to be sure I could store the curler away immediately when I was finished with it. - Swivel tangle-free cord: This works as described. - Inexpensive: I purchased mine for $19 and have Amazon Prime so my item arrived in 2 days. Cons: - The "cool" tip at the top of the curler (plastic tapered rounded end) isn't quite big enough for your hand to rest comfortably/grip so you can easily burn yourself if you're not careful. Conair should really extend the length and/or make this part non-tapered to give it more circumference (I have really small hands and have burned myself). Definitely practice holding the curler before turning in on to see how best to grip it and/or think about getting a pair of heat-resistant gloves! Neutral: - Button placement: Some reviewers have noted that they have accidentally shut off the curler due to the placement of the controls/buttons but I haven't ever done this and if I did, it's not an issue to reset the temperature. - Nano Tourmaline Ceramic: I can't really tell if this "technology" has an effect but the curler curls and doesn't seem to over fry my hair.

I already had this curler in the 1" size. That one is great for big, soft curls. But some sections of my hair are very stubborn and don't like to curl or stayed curled. I also sometimes wanted a more pronounced curl. The 3/4 inch was the perfect diameter to get the fun, bouncy curls I wanted for some looks. The curl lasts for days! With no product - just my hair and this curler. Which is saying something as my baby fine hair is very hard to curl. A tip to getting curls that last without product - mist your hair with water before curling. I learned that trick from a Conair steam iron I owned years ago - it was the first curling iron that gave me curls that lasted. Sadly, mine succumbed to mineral deposits clogging the water line and they don't seem to make the steam irons anymore. Misting your hair works nearly as well though. My original foray into ceramic irons was years ago when they first hit the major chains and only plain ceramic was available. The plain ceramic was far too rough for my fine hair. My hair would cling to it and break, so I went back to the metal ones that left me with flyaways and lots of split ends. Then I read about tourmaline ceramic. Seemed to be an improvement over the ones I used in the past, so I purchased the Revlon tourmaline curler in the 1". Loved the tourmaline, hated the curler. The tourmaline worked great to smooth my frizz gently and make my hair shine; however, the curler kept shutting off on me while I was trying to curl my hair and the clamp cover fell off after a couple weeks of use. The cover I just glued it back on, but I could not get the iron to stay on for a whole curling session. I have loved previous Conair items I have used, so I decided to give their tourmaline a try. *The tourmaline finish wasn't as smooth as the Revlon finish, but it doesn't tear my hair like the plain ceramic curlers, so it's still a win. *The heat STAYED ON!! *The curl lasted longer than the Revlon curler. *I like the heating controls a lot better on the Conair. You can choose the actual Fahrenheit temperature (who knows what 22 actually is?). *The barrel cover they include with this curler is also a big plus - solid and easy to put on. *Another plus is the tab counter stand - nothing for your hair to get hung up on and nothing to manage before putting the iron down. *The cord is quality; it swivels easily and doesn't twist into a knot (the Revlon one did - hard to curl when you're fighting a cord).

Great curling iron with high heat and it’s super easy to use! My curls last all day and leaves my hair feeling smooth.

I always buy the more expensive curling irons thinking I was getting better quality. These higher priced curling irons are amazing but all last a year to 1.5 years. I thought I would try a less expensive iron because why pay $40 for a great product that only lasts about a year! With that said here is my take on this iron. It is so light weight that I've actually dropped it a couple of times because I can't seem to feel it the same way as the more expensive ones...this could be seen as either positive or negative as it is light weight but honestly feels "cheap" not very substantial in my hand. Like others, I agree the tip design being pointed is terrible! I do try to be careful as others have mentioned it. But my finger does tend to slide down and I did get a good burn on my finger. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and here is my personal bottom line. I only paid $15 for this, I'll keep it as a backup. But I'm going back to the $40 iron. Simply because it is a better quality product even if it only lasts for a year. I would rather pay $40 a year for a great product than $14 for a product I use daily and I just don't like the feel or the way it curls my hair. I use it daily, I'm going to just suck it up and pay $40 and have a better daily experience. Too bad the $40 don't last at least 3 years...what can I do?

I bought this curling iron because I have a new cut that it easy to dress up with a few extra curls. My hair has always been difficult to curl because it has lots of body and natural waves that insist on having their own way, but those waves don't look all that great if left without styling. I have a curling wand, but I found it difficult to operate. I decided to plunge back into curling iron land, and after some research, I chose this one. The Infiniti Pro heats up quickly. I love that I can choose the temperature setting, although I wish I knew when it reached it. I also tend to use a protective glove on one hand because I burned myself when I tried to guide the wand at both ends. I like to section my hair and place it on the wand before I clip it -- and doing that makes burns inevitable. The clip can create kinks at the end; if that happens to you, try styling without closing it (and using a glove) as though it were a styling wand. I like this curling iron a lot more than my old one and even my styling wand. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann With my hair, the 3/4" wand creates 1.5" or greater curls because my hair relaxes immediately after I release it. I'm considering using some kind of heat protection treatment as well since my hair can get frizzy from the heat.

Ordered this because my other large curling iron finally broke beyond repair (I was holding it together with rubber bands and duct tape ;o) So, I was looking for something the same size and hopefully a bit more durable - I had been buying Revlon styling wands but they do seem to fall apart pretty quickly with daily use. I happened upon this Conair Infinity product and thought I would give it a try - the price was right and it was available through Amazon Prime. I read the reviews and liked that users were saying that it smoothed their hair and stopped frizz even though I did not hold out much hope in that arena for myself. I have VERY curly hair and no matter how I straighten or smooth it -- it ends up being frizzy and trying to curl up on me -- just doing the dishes or walking outside if the air has any humidity at all will cause my hair to freak out. So, I am amazed by this product - it works quickly (I used to use two curling irons and a flat iron to get everything "smoothed") -- but now I use this and only this curling iron! No frizz -- no fly-aways - my hair stays smooth and straightened in between shampoos -- I am almost 50 years old and this is a FIRST ;o)
