Great batch
Much better quality this time! So my first one must have been a bad batch. This has that beautiful yellow green you want to see from oat hay. My chronic hay hater rabbit has started to like oat hay and prefer it so I'm hoping this brand and one other combined with help him

Great
We order from them all the time. We had an issue with one batch of hay. They were pretty quick in fixing the issue and went beyond what was expected however if I have any issue at all it would be customer service is lacking in keeping you informed. The product is great and my rabbits have never had any issues. I recommend it 100%

Hay quality is inconsistent :(
Straight to the trash! It pains me to write such a bad review, as I finally found a hay that my picky bun devours. I wanted to give oat hay a try to increase my bunnyโs hay consumption, as well as reduce (both) of our allergies to timothy hay. The box on the left is the remnants of my very first order of oat hay (my bun absolutely ate it up)! I had seen older reviews addressing the inconsistency of the hay, but decided to take a gamble once again. Unfortunately, I received the box on the right the second time around. It had a musty smell, moldy pieces, and bug eggs in some pieces too! I wouldnโt let my bun eat it even if he triedโฆ Iโm definitely bummed as Amazon is the only way I can get SPS hay shipped to Hawaii. Oh and not to mention, I canโt even return this musty brown hay or get a refund. Definitely stay away!!

Picky Eater Bun Bun Loves Small Pet Select "Oat Hay" Yeah!
Our rabbit is a picky hay eater, but he loves this Small Pet Select Oat Hay. He loves nibbling on the Oats, but he will also will eat some of the Hay, which is good for his digestive system. I have ordered this Small Pet Select Oat Hay multiple times. The hay is mostly green, the quality of the product is good, and my Bun Bun Loves Eating it!

Top Quality at a Great Price!
We have 2 chinchillas and 3 guinea pigs, but my daughter is allergic to Timothy Hay. So, I started buying Oat Hay for $10/lb, but this was becoming excessively expensive w/such a big herd. With my first order, I was worried about the quality of this brand of Oat Hay because it seemed too good to be true... being able to buy 10 lbs for the price I would have paid for 3.5 lbs. But, I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised. The hay is very fresh and contains more of the little oats that my herd loves so much. There are some tough pieces in it, but this is actually a good thing. It's necessary for our little critters to have some tough stuff to gnaw down their teeth. My herd eats it ALL and LOVES it!!! I will get an even bigger box next time. And, even if you don't HAVE to buy Oat Hay due to something crazy like a family member's allergies, I recommend giving it a try because it's so healthy and you will love watching your little critters go crazy over it. It's a rarity that the thing that is more healthy is also the thing that they love more.

Decent overall
Pros: -Fresh, good quality -The leaves are green, my picky senior rabbit really enjoys it Cons: - The strands are too long. You'd have to cut it before trying to take out of the box, otherwise it'll be a huge mess - There are too many oat groats. Rabbits can eat them, but as a treat, so you'll have to separate the flowers to adjust their portion - The leaf to stem ratio isn't worth the price point. This oat hay is very long, you can get a strand that's >2ft long, and from that you'll have 1-2 leafs totaling about 1ft. If your rabbit eats the stem, then this point shouldn't be any concern to you but my rabbit eats leaves only. So technically, the half of the whole box is unusable, and since i separate the majority of oat groats, I end up throwing them away as well. I end up paying $35 for the box but have to throw away 2/3 of it which isn't a good value. To sum up, if your rabbit eats the stem and you are okay cutting the long strands and separating excess oat flowers (rabbits can have them, but in small quantities as a snack), this will be a great hay choice for you. It's fresh and a very good quality. If your rabbit eats only green leaves, then be aware you'll throw away a half to 2/3 of the whole box because of long stems (straw). If I could give a suggestion to SPS, maybe it'll be worth it to cut the oat hay earlier in a season. This way there will be less flowers, shorter stem and more leaves.

Oat hay- GREAT!; Customer Support- AMAZING!
5 stars all around ๐๐๐๐๐ My bunny goes crazy for this Oat hay from SPS. I have always ordered the large sampler box but oat is his favorite! Recently, I placed an order for a 10lb box of oat hay but I received orchard grass instead. I contacted their customer support as soon as it was delivered, and within a few hours, they resolved the issue! They not only shipped out the correct oat hay, but also told me I could donate the orchard grass to a rescue. Their customer service is just as impressive as their products, and Iโll definitely remain a loyal customer.

Two horrible boxes of hay in a row! One was wheat straw not oat; the new one was USED.
I don't know what is going on with this company, but last week I ordered a box of oat hay and got wheat straw, and the replacement box of oat hay that was just delivered has clearly been used and is HORRIBLE quality. There's one intact--and rock hard--flake of shorter than usual pieces of hay, a lot of which is brown, with no seed heads to be found, and then part of a small flake that looks like it was hacked off. I switched to this brand after similar quality control issues with Rabbit Hole Hay. Looks like I have to switch again. The first box I bought earlier this year was perfect. Now he barely has any left and I have nothing for him, which is upsetting because he's really old and needs to eat as much as possible, and this has always been his favorite. So upsetting.

Quality hay
Really great quality hay, smells nice and looks fresh and great, the strands are a good length although it does have a fair bit of dust left in the bottom of the box, when on sale the value is brilliant although full price is a tad pricey.

Worth the price, as a little goes a long way
A big hit with my three girls, and a perfect replacement for their barley and oat grass (AKA guinea pig crack) over Winter. It's fairly pricey, but as it's just a treat alongside their normal hay, the box will last for ages. As a reference, they go through a 3kg bale of normal hay a week, but we've had this 5kg box over two weeks and barely scraped the top layer. No dust and smells divine. It's a little messier dishing it out, as it's in a box rather than a bag, but I just decant a few handfuls into a bag each week. Word of warning if you have long-haired floofs with a habit of storing debris in their coat like it's Mary Poppins' handbag - this hay contains little seed-head things that have a tendency to cling. Not a major issue, just keep an eye on it and make sure to check when grooming. I use a fabric hag feeding bag which helps, but the baby of my herd is small enough to climb fully inside the bag, kinda defeating the purpose, lol. Keep an eye on anyone with a penchant for dive-bombing piles of hay, too. I wouldn't call this hay particularly hard or sharp, but it's not soft either, so hay-poke could be a risk. I'd spread it out in a thin layer rather than dumping a mound of it in the enclosure, just to be safe. Speaking of the little seed-head things, if you use fleece bedding, you might find a few cling to the fleece when it comes time to wash them, but they brush right off if you use a rubber brush to remove hair and debris anyway. Will definitely buy this again. I kinda have to, as the girls are obsessed and yell at the top of their lungs when they see the box, so I think they've developed an addiction!

amazing
my bunnies jumped on the box and started to eat the hay, they love IT. is plenty in the box. last time i bought the sampler to see which one they prefer so i could buy a bigger box for them. hay is fresh very high quality and i really appreciate the hard work that Has been put into IT. i have got 2 bunnies and 4 guinea pigs and they say big thank u to the seller. the sampler box lasted for nearly a month.i bought the oat hay this time and i think its worth this money even tho u can buy IT a lot cheaper somewhere else but this quality is really high and pets are very happy to eat IT. we love the cards as well from the seller. will buy again and again for sure.
