Best loose-leaf tea
My absolutely favorite tea - I would not hesitate in trying this tea. It has a great caramel, maple flavor. Be warned that the tea does contain small, sliced almonds.

Good Value....but NOT for automatic tea makers
According to my unscientific survery, it seems that guys discover this tea in their college years and then the use drops away and it becomes a bit of a nostalgia item.I always think about it in the fall, as it recalls memories of (once upon a time) burning leaves. My first batch was purchased at a PX store at the Army War Collage while I was temporarily there to "play" WW3. This used to happen every October. We always won, sort of.Twinings bags were what I found, and I still like them the best for casual use, taking to work, etc. This tea is loose and coarse as it should be, and requires steeping to taste.Get one of those aluminum balls and one with enough space to allow for expansion. Running it through a drip tea maker will simply not do it justice. Plus the flavor will stick to the nylon mesh filter and ALL your other tea will be smokey for a while.Good aroma and nice taste. The golden color used to mean high grade leaves, or so I was told. The bag is resealable, but a nice air-tight jar may be better.I'll bet one could write a small book filled with nothing but stories of persons' first encounters with Lapsang Souchang. How may of them involved guys trying to act exotic?Have fun!

Love the flavor - but it fine ground tea
2/8/241st - I want to say I'm ecstatic I have found a DECAF Irish Breakfast loose tea for a great price. The flavor is spot on and the aroma is delightful.2nd - My only complaint is that it's finely ground like coffee not stems like I was expecting - see pictures for clarification3rd - It's so fine that it runs through my infuser straight to the bottom of my mug - I had to strain my tea through a coffee filter before I could drink it (Looks like I need to get tea bag for this ground tea as my metal infuser isn't fine enough)Knocked off 1 star for it being ground tea but Overall I am pleased with the quality was just surprised how fine it was. Will update when I get my tea bags.

I am addicted
This is one of the best teas if not the best one. I went to Starbucks to get a black tea, I did not have time to make my own. One of the biggest mistakes ever, their black tea was horrible, and they used tea bags. The girl had the nerve to tell me they sale it in Target. But I will be buying this Tea from Amazon until I can’t. Fell in love with Tea on Amazon😂

Worst tea I have ever brewed!
This is a review for English Tea Store Loose Leaf, Versailles Lavender Earl Grey Tea, 4 Ounce.I am a tea connoisseur and brew a pot of black tea in the morning and a pot of herbal/white tea in the afternoon for over a decade. I enjoy trying new teas and look forward to favorite stand-bys and I absolutely adore the whole loose leaf tea process: opening the bag/tin and inhaling the aroma, placing the dried leaves in the strainer for the pot, assessing the color as I pour it into the cup, adding milk and sugar to my black teas. (And, yes, I even enjoy seeing the spent leaves in the compost pile)I burned myself out on Earl Grey a couple of years ago and only recently have returned to brewing it in the morning. I've always like lavender Earl Grey and purchased from this vendor because the price was reasonable. I rarely write reviews, especially negative reviews. I like to encourage vendors with positivity and just "move-on" from a product I didn't like. Unfortunately, this tea was so bad I had to leave a warning.I brewed a pot yesterday morning and wasn't impressed but thought I messed up and left the strainer in the pot too long (I'm fully capable of ignoring a timer and "chasing a squirrel") so I brewed another pot this morning. I tried to gag my way through 2 cups before tossing the rest of the pot. The aroma is wonderful ... But the taste! The brew was *extremely* bitter at 4 minutes. The bergamont flavor tastes like it came from rotten citrus fruit. I had to use 4x the sweetener to make 1 cup palatable; I still have a burning sensation in the back of my throat (which I had yesterday as well). I'm chewing antacids trying to escape the backwash ...It may be related to the changes in taste/smell that some have had with Covid-19 and/or the vaccine. I'm willing to say that. I will be scrubbing my pot tonight and cleansing with a baking soda/vinegar wash. I really really wanted to like this tea ... I'm so disappointed.

Subtle smoke flavor
There is subtle smokey scent. The room will not fill with smoke scent as you brew this tea. It does have noticeable smokey taste (more like after-taste), which ultimately is perhaps what a tea drinker wants. This tea causes me digestive reflux. The only tea ever to do that. I had smokey Lapsang Souchong before and this is a tame version of this tea style. It is not a bitter tea unless you overdose and overbrew it.

Love it so creamy!
Excellent tea for a good price. I use an electric tea, kettle and brew the tea for eight minutes, adding a little bit of almond milk. It just had stepped in character to the tea. I have it in the afternoon for pick me up and I look forward to it every day.
