Scales for Advanced Violinists

I purchased this scale book to work more on my scales, particularly navigating different key signatures. This book makes it easy for an advanced violinist to see what needs to be done for each scale and gives more of a guideline to follow.

Good book if you're learning the violin by yourself and don't have someone to guide you through the more traditional (and less annotated) scales. I'm returning to the violin after a long hiatus and this second book is helping me stretch the limits of my skill.

I am not advanced by any means but my violin teacher asked me to purchase this book. The exercises are excellent and do require some "teacher-modeling" for fingering and other tricks that someone without lots of training would not be able to know. This has helped my violin playing overall.

Wonderful scale book. I used this to get my chops back up after being out of practice for a short while, and it is just wonderful. I love how you can have just a couple pages dedicated to one key and get a full work out on your violin. Absolutely love this scale book.

Every second year violin student should use this book. It begins with Circle of 5ths, then Practice for Scales and Arpeggios, Double Stops, and ends with a lesson in each of the Keys. So, very thorough. The quality of the book itself is very good for a stapled notebook. The paper, while not the highest quality, is good enough such that the print is crisp and clear.

On top of scale notation, this book gives a variety of ways to practice technical exercises, so you never get bored of practicing the same scales over and over again.

I have never before now failed to be less than enthusiastic about an Amazon delivery. Even essentials generate a little frisson of excitement. Although this is a really good scales book, it is still a scales book and I therefore have to hate it.I should be using it instead of writing this.

Not since Carl Flesch have we had such a straightforward scale book!Congratulations to BB she has done it!The beginner is also fabulious.....a must for any serious student or string teacher.....Now all we need is a jazz system of scales like this from her!Must have!
