absolutely awesome product
these units are amazing for quality, ease of use and durability. We butcher several deer each year, freeze a lot of produce from our garden and bulk buys of things on sale. we seal rice, beans oats and other dry items to prevent age, moisture and insect destruction. the jar sealing attachment is also useful for sealing things for storage, sealing out moisture. we're finding it costs very little more to go first class with this product.

Love it!
This might be a bit premature since I have only used it a few times so far but I really love this machine and it does everything that I thought it would and probably more than I've figured out yet. It was also very easy to learn to use after one false start. The instructions are right in the lid that you flip up and can see while you are using the machine. After seeing how well it did I have started ordering a few more accessories for it. So far I have used it for fresh produce that I may have decided not to use right after purchase, in this case my example would be fresh ginger. I'm still keeping it in the vegetable crisper but it is so totally sealed I can tell it is still good and I can make my Thai recipes when I want to not just right after I've made a trip to the store. I have also used it in the freezer for storing walnuts and black walnuts separately and not in a container just in the bags. They take up far less space that way and seem to stay a lot fresher longer. I have not ordered the marinade container because I have found that if I don't use a lot of liquid (so it doesn't get sucked out) but use all the spices that I need I can seal it in a bag and in very little time I have the flavor drawn throughout all of the meat or if I change my mind I can pop in the freezer and have it already marinated later. So for after only a few weeks of use I have to say I'm loving this. I have found one downside however, you always have to leave four inches of extra bag for it to seal because the way the machine is made. I learned after buying this one that the newer machines don't have this issue however the newer machines when I was looking at them anyway were price far higher than this one, practically double. So for the price I'm extremely happy with what I got. I should also point out that I knew when I bought this that it was not the newest, latest, greatest machine but it was enough for me since it was my first and the price was good that's why I went with this one.

Great Investment with Broad Uses
After using many vacuum systems for kitchen foods prep and food storage, this has been a game changer. We've had handheld units that work fine, but are fiddley and require ziptop bags with a seal port. We've had more inexpensively countertop units that are difficult to clean, don't seal well, or don't offer sufficient vacuum to tightly pack food. This unit is a massive upgrade. After thinking I didn't need to spend the money for a higher (mid) grade vacuum system, the more powerful motor, built-in and retractable handheld pump, and much better sealing make this some of the best money I've spent in my busy kitchen in years. From buying bulk meats, dried fruit and nuts, or candies to saving leftovers or cooking sous vide, this outperforms the cheaper options by leaps and bounds. We've even used this to pack small items for travel or pack thread, string lights, or cables so they don't risk tangling. The on-board bag storage and cutter are great, but I still mostly use a stack of pre-cut bags for quick convenience when my hands are messy. I truly have not found any flaws to fault this unit and would replace it in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to it.

Perfect.. NO Very Good.. YES
First off.. I've been using different vacuum sealers for decades - the 'clamshell' type and this is my first automatic type. I mainly use the sealer for freezing meat and for sealing cheese. When I buy meat, I get the large cryopaks. My first use of this FoodSaver was that I purchased a chunk of Boneless Ribeye weighing almost 20 pounds and cut my own steaks for less than 6 dollars a pound (local grocery store was 22 dollars a pound and thin steaks) and I got a 5 pound brick of sharp cheddar cheese which I cut down to 1 pound blocks. I always buy my meat and cheese in these quantities. PROS: --It's a vacuum sealer --Works well with bags from other manufacturers. (purchased two 50foot rolls) --Didn't have any problems sealing properly and only a couple times had problems with it vacuuming (was able to stop it -hit power button- before it sealed) --Has the handheld vacuum port. My most favorite feature. Works great with ziplock type vacuum bags. (prior had to dig through drawer to find the battery operated vac pump - half the time batteries had died) I eat a lot of cheddar cheese and use the ziplock type bags and put block of cheese back in and vacuum before putting back in fridge. No more 'hard spots' on cheese - cheddar cheese hates air --Automatic.. Just put bag in slot and wait for it to grab. My old 'clam shell' one, had to make sure vacuum port in bag then close cover and hope port still in bag. CONS: --Wastes a LOT of the bag. Especially if item in bag is thick you need to have a lot of 'tail' so it will go into slot evenly -No way to double seal bag --Slow.. takes a long time for it to suck out the air and sealing takes a long time also.. Fine for occasional use but if doing large batches, gets annoying fast (much slower than the clamshell one this replaces) -Sealing element seems to overheat and shut down unit only after 3 seals (light flashes). Used to make a bunch of bags with my clamshell sealer then fill the bags, and then vacuum seal them. Work around - make two bags - fill one - vacuum seal it - make a third bag - fill second bag - continue. This way you are only using the sealer two times in a row and it gets to cool down as you’re filling a bag and vacuuming it. --Handheld vacuum - though this is my favorite feature of this model, it has a valve in it (you can see a white plunger through the clear part) As your vacuuming something this valve will close and most of the time you won't realize it. So for me.. I'm vacuuming a bag waiting for it to suck more air out but the valve had closed and I had not realized it. So I'm standing there like an idiot wondering when it will finish. The only way to get this valve back open is to turn off the machine and sometimes have to tap on the attachment to get the plunger to drop back down. OVERALL: I'm happy with this model. After using the clamshell type for decades I do like the automatic feature of this and now the sealer sits on my counter instead of in a cupboard, so it gets used more. My biggest issues are that it is much slower than my old clamshell one and it overheats much faster than the one this replaced, but for occasional use it is fine - just when doing large batches when it is an issue. Also, it wastes so much of the 'bags' - I purchased two 50 foot rolls at a very reasonable price and they worked great without the cost of FoodSaver rolls. Only drawback is that they don't fit into the bag roll holder/cutter but for the price difference it is a drawback I can live with happily. Love the handheld attachment (gets used almost daily) but the valve in it is annoying, so if you are using the handheld part and wondering why it doesn't seem to be doing its job - just check that the plunger valve is open. I purchased this a couple days before I went meat shopping. I had even kept the box it came in (which I never do.. but know I always should) so I could return it if it wasn't up to snuff. Ends up that I'm keeping this. Even though it's much slower than my much cheaper clamshell sealer and it wastes a lot of bags, the handheld portion is the selling point for me. Perfect/Great/Exceptional... NO Very Good/Get much more use out of it.. YES

I am in love with this thing
I am in love with this thing. I just got a new top freezer fridge and am looking at small Energy Star Rated freezers for my cellar. This prompted a reexamination of my eating habits, as I am single and have an 80 mile round trip commute. If I freeze something frequently I return to it and it is an unappetizing wonderland of ice crystals. Opened forgotten jars of spaghetti sauce find there way to the garbage pail out of fear of a foodborne illness. I now open spaghetti sauce and spoon it into 2 standard ice cube trays. Four cubes= 1/2cup serving of sauce. I make soups, freeze them by the pint in plastic entree containers as "molds", pop out the frozen squares and bag them in 8" bags. I can make beef stew, make it into 6" x6" x1" pint sized frozen serving. I can make wide noodles al dente, freeze them flat on parchment and put them into 11" bags and put the 8" stew bag inside. Ditto for Kung Pao Chicken (Kikkoman Seasoning) in with frozen brown rice. ( Freeze rice and pasta on parchment on a cookie sheet.) I have worked hard to come up with a selection of dinner meals so I am only making one 5 serving entre every week. I reuse the 8" bags by cutting close to the seal, washing the bags out with Dawn dish detergent and re using the bags for smaller Items like spaghetti sauce cubes. Yes the bags add to the price but going on Foodsaver.com you can cut up to 30% of the price with a quantity buy and get free shipping. This unit did have one flaw: the spring for the retractable vacuum hose was defective and doesn't retract. However it works fine and can be worked gently back into the cabinet. It didn't stop me from using the wide and regular mouth Ball jar vacuum attachments ( use a second lid over the first for easy release) and the marinator worked fine. I am giving it 5 stars because I consider this a minor nuisance and because the price seems lower, probably because of that. Use the extra money to buy the combo box of 3 11" and 2 8" bag rolls. I able to get bag price down to 32 cents a bag and sometimes reuse bags. Don't forget: throwing food out has a price and two or three items could equal the cost of a roll of bags. I have a feeling this thing is now a part of my life.

This is a MUST HAVE IF YOU BUY IN BULK OR DO ANY FREEZING
OMG I wish I would’ve bought this 8 months ago when my cousin told me it is what he had! This is a beast! What a time saver and food saver! I buy in bulk to save money and repackage…. It took me minutes to bag and seal my groceries today!

Keep food longer and save money
Gift for my bride. We had borrowed a “FoodSaver” brand from a neighbor, we already knew the quality. Our new FoodSaver V4400 did not disappoint. Ordered December 2025 and received within a few days. We have already vacuumed sealed a lot of wonderful Christmas and New Year’s leftovers that otherwise would have been thrown out or left in the fridge to spoil. The food we have already vacuum sealed with our FoodSaver in a couple weeks has more than paid for the machine. Set-up, learning curve, and easy controls allow you to become a “vacuum sealer expert” within a few minutes of opening the box. It’s lightweight and the bag length cutter is a big PLUS. Stores easy under countertop. Function controls are simple: cut bag to length, seal end, fill bag, vacuum and seal. Automatic seal is great (no buttons to push). Green and red lights tell you when each phase is complete and the entire vacuum/seal process is well under a minute. It is little noisy, but you get used to it. Save money and prevent freezer burn. I highly recommend!

Voltage Compatibility Issue
I purchased this from a UAE site and brought it to Somalia, expecting it to work in Somalia as both the UAE and Somalia use the same voltage standard (220V). However, upon trying to use it, the machine turned on briefly and then shut off. After some investigation, I discovered that the product is designed for 110-120V, which is incompatible with the 220V standard used here. Unfortunately, I am unable to return the product to the UAE due to logistical reasons. I am requesting assistance to resolve this issue, such as a replacement or a partial payment option for a compatible product. This situation has been quite frustrating, and I hope you can offer a solution to help address this problem.

Works well, fun to use
I am really excited about my vacuum machine thus far; turning roasts into steaks, buying club packs (& freezing) and vacu-packing vs canning. Dislikes: *Does not hold the really large inexpensive plastic rolls though they are easy to cut to length by hand. Likes: *Ease of use *Vacuum power *Speed *It's fun to use I have never used a vacuum machine before so I can't compare with an unknown industry standard, but this is very good.
