Alone Across the Arctic: One Woman's Epic Journey by Dog Team

I took this book with me when I took a recent flight to Florida. It is a excellent book. Very easy read. I almost finish it on the plane. If you love husky's and the hard journey of traveling in Alaska with a dog sled team this is for you. Pam you are a hero in my eyes!!!

This book is an amazing story of one woman’s determination and fortitude, and 8 faithful dogs. The reader actually feels as though they are on the trail with them. Through all the hardships and the unexpected, together the persevere. I found the book difficult to put down. I highly recommend it.

Just returned from my first trip to Alaska, where I got to see a portion of the Iditarod and go dog sledding. Was looking for books about the topic and found this book, which was really wonderful and inspiring. I enjoyed reading about Ms. Flowers’ inner feelings, fears and concerns, as well as about the dogs’ personalities and work habits during their 2,500 mile journey across the Arctic. Excellent read. Highly recommend.

Pam's journey with her family of dogs was truly awe-inspiring and was hard to put down, so I read the book in one sitting. It was a book that left me with "happy-sad" tears. I was elated hearing of the kindness she and her dogs experienced by others along the way, but then sad to read the moments that were fear-provoking for her and the team. I appreciated the gray boxes with various details of how she set up camp and the list of gear at the end of the book. This a book that will stay on my bookshelf and I will likely read again.

If you love adventure and especially if you love dig stories give this a read. Pam Flowers is amazingly brave and obviously skilled. Thanks for sharing an experience most of us can barely dream about.

Its bigger than i expected, has pictures and interesting read so far. Arrived MUCH sooner than the month predicted
