If you are looking for a REALLY low cost way to essentially extend your built in mic across the room, this is the way to do it. The cable is about 13 feet long, which is really nice. It comes with a little bag to keep it in and a few extra things, like pop filters and a converter for a lap top input. That said, if you are needing any kind of quality to your recording, you should probably increase your budget. I would say, the quality isn't even as good as the average iphone earbuds or built in cell phone mic.
