High fashion unquestionably goes hand-in-hand with sartorial and stylistic perfection. A driving force behind the entire fashion and garment industry, it represents the search for new solutions concerning fabrics, style, or patterns. In this context, the patternmaker is an essential figure, bringing the stylist's ideas into reality. In our richly illustrated new volume of the Fashion Patternmaking series, the prolific author Antonio Donnanno, an offspring of a tailor family, patternmaking teacher, and director of a fashion school network, describes in detail the methods and techniques used in high-fashion patternmaking in an understandable and step-by-step way. Review: Fashio - It is very informative and inspirational just love it Review: Útil - Muito bom, mas é mais avançado.

Amazing book!
This is a gorgeous book! Really great pleasure looking at all the diagrams of step by step made patterns of garments by famous fashion designers like Alexander Mcqueen, Oscar de la Renta and others. It doesn't say exactly which pattern is which, but if you follow fashion shows you might spot those iconic garments very quickly. A really lovely book to practice creative 3D thinking and expand your knowledge on creative garment construction. Would be very useful for any level of pattern cutting skills.

Excellent book.
Current student at FIT. Vintage lover. Statement piece creator. Fashion book collector. This book is going to help me bring many ideas to life. I love how various couture styles are covered - patternmaking as well as the section on fabric painting. It may be hard for someone who is not well versed in pattern making to understand pattern section as it’s illustrations+ pattern layout + pattern piece visualized. There isn’t any specific step by step process listed in that section. Great book overall looking fwd to collecting the series
