Great for pollinators
We have planted these for several years. We have had no problems with germination, a large number of seeds come up with each seeding and the plants are both attractive and hardy. This variety of sunflower is great for both butterflies and native pollinators plus honeybees. The plant will branch out forming several flowers, and provides copius amounts of pollen. Because of the amount of pollen they are not the best cutting flower unless you don’t mind some pollen around your vase. We highly recommend these as a plus food source for native pollinators.

Only one seed out of all of then sprouted!!
I would give them zero stars if possible I germinated the seeds inside and only one sprouted only one out of the so-called thousand that were in that tiny bag and I don’t believe there were 1000 seeds at all sprouted. I am so irritated I have wasted my time. I have never had this happen and my entire adult career as a gardener . they better refund my money But I doubt it….

Growing strong!
I planted mine about 2 months ago and they are just starting to bloom. I do have one that looks like it’s going to have at least 8 heads!

Too early to plant
Anxious to get these seeds in the ground. I'll have to write a follow up later. Then we'll see how that goes. The package was fine

Plant these flower in cool weather. They don't like extreme heat.
I tried twice to get these seeds to germinate and nothing happened. I planted the Mexican Red Sunflower seeds and they came up very quickly.Update: I have tried again to grow these flowers and found the secret. These flower like cooler weather. I live in the desert and it gets over 110 in the summer. They don't germinate in the summer. I tried growing them in late fall and was pleasantly surprised to see they survived all winter, even freezing temperatures, in my covered beds and bloomed in February!

Not giant and not like the photo
The sunflowers grew everywhere they were planted, even in sand with no fertilizer or anything. But my very best flower all year only vaguely looked like the photo, and was very small - about 3 inches across. Most of my flowers do not have any petals in the middle at all, and the plants topped out at about 3 feet high while my other sunflowers grew to 11 feet in the same flower bed. Will not be planting these again, but they were so inexpensive it was an ok experiment.

Unusual but beautiful
I will wait until Spring 2022 to plant. Neighbors had them this year and they were beautiful! average height was 4' to 4 1/2' in sandy Florida soil. No extra fertilizer or pesticides needed.
