Fantastic Piece of Hardware
This works amazingly as a Ethernet extension and has been in my daily use for years. It's simple to use being literally to just plug in to 2 outlets and press a button and they pair up with no issues. Since they come with plug sockets on as well its not like you lose anything in terms of functionality with other plugs. You can see the difference between the internet on Wi-Fi and Ethernet, its basically night and day and one of the Adapters has 2 Ethernet ports so you can connect 2 devices, I chose to connect my PC and Console the only slight criticism I can give is that the Ethernet cables it comes with a quite short so if you want something longer you'll need to buy them separately but other than that its an all round solid piece of hardware that is essential if you value more consistent internet due to Ethernet.

Extremely easy to install, just works! Versatile pass through. TV streaming services reliable.
I needed this for an oldish BT YouView TV set top box that didn't have wifi but did have an ethernet port. I needed to connect this box to the home internet to be able to use the streaming apps on this set top box, like BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Amazon Prime. But our internet hub was the other side of the room, so running a cable could be done under the rug, but we removed that for safety trip hazard reasons. I tried a wireless access point which worked partially but the set top box seemed to forget the IP settings for this device. So a family member had used these power line ethernet plugs in their home and I thought I'd also give it a try, I found this TP-link model on amazon and found most reviews encouraging so ordered them. And I was very pleased. Very easy to set up, and the connection is stable and reliable. Recommended.

Very good just read my review before buying
These are a bit misleading, i bought the 3 port version expectimg 3 plug units but the 3 port unit is in fact are 2 plug units and one plug has 2 ports in it and the other plug had one port in it. If i had known I would have bought a 2 port system. Apart from that though they are fantastic and work really well! If you use one on a plug to a speaker it puts a bit of hum onto the speaker but apart from that realky simple to use, simple instructions, fast connection speed and a lot easier than running ethernet cables around. Highly recommend.

Very easy to set up and speed is fantastic. (see my speed comparisons test)
I already had two TP-Link plugs like this which I have had for a few years now. I needed another one for my bedroom so purchased this to pair with the old two. I only needed to use one of the two new TP-link plugs so I plugged one in; pressed the โpairโ button on the old TP-Link plug first. When the top green light started flashing, I pressed the โpairโ button on the new TP-Link plug and within moments the new plug was paired up with the old TP-Link plugs. I did some speed comparisons with my laptop. I connected my laptop directly to the sky router using one of the CAT.5 Ethernet cable provided in the box. After that I checked the speed using the speedtest.net website. After that I checked the speed connected to the new TP-link plug, then I plugged the new TP-Link into an extension lead because thatโs where I was going to plug it in for use. I wanted to see if the extension lead would affect the speed in any way. After that I did a test on the WiFi. The results are below: Upload Mbps Download Mbps Speed when connected directly to Sky router 6.78 26.91 Speed when connect to New TP-Link plug 6.75 26.89 New TP-Link in extension lead 6.75 26.88 Wifi speed 6.75 26.89 From the numbers above you can see that the TP-Link plug is very good for speed. The differences are only in the point number which is nothing really. One thing to bear in mind is that your broadband speed is always changing depending on the time of day and how many people are streaming on your network at the same time. I did this test when I was home alone so nobody was using my internet and it was at 9.45 in the morning. I hope this review helps you in your decision making. I would highly recommend it. Especially if you like online gaming like me and hate the random lag mid game.

The cheats solution if you're lazy and/or incompetent
In 1989 I attended a lecture which told the audience that in the future technology would be intuitive and manuals a thing of the past. I took the lecturer at his word and detest any piece of modern technology that requires me to look at a manual. Or think. This now means that I hate setting up new tech - I'm lazy AND incompetent - so I brought this TP link Adapter Starter Kit so that I wouldn't have to struggle to connect a recently brought (but second hand) tower pc to the internet. It worked first time and the computer booted up quickly and I didn't have to faff about waiting for the computer to find a dodgy wi-fi signal. It cuts out a layer of technology that I'm too old/stupid to comprehend or be bothered with. It does all the hard work for a lazy old sod like me. Would recommend for anyone who also thinks that we shouldn't be wasting time having to work out how technology works.

Brilliant idea
Used these to connect our printer to the WiFi network. First the tp-link boxes were paired to each other following the instructions. Then one tp-link box is plugged into a mains socket near the router. We connect a rj45 cable from the router to the tp-link box. The second tp-link box is plugged into a mains socket near the printer in the next room. A rj45 cable is connected from the tp-link box to the printer. Used the laptop to connect printer to WiFi using IP address etc (or use Windows 10 to connect the printer to the WiFi) and that's it.. Printer connected. One thing to remember is that the mains power has to be switched on to both tp-link boxes all the time. Simple but brilliant idea and saves running a separate rj45 network cable through the house from router to printer. Highly recommended.

Worked within minutes of taking it out of the box
I have full wifi round the house, but video streaming was not 100%. I decided an Ethernet link was the answer, but did not want to cable the house! These units worked immediately, even though one is on a short extension lead. These units do not have wifi as I did not need it. I plugged them in, pressed the sync buttons and they were working almost instantly. I have the single unit connected to the router and the dual unit to the TV and set top box. The Ethernet leads provided were adequate for connecting the dual unit at the TV end. We can now stream videos with ease and no more buffering.

Does the job
It served it purpose well. It capped out at around 70 to 80 mbps. And it did intermittently disconnect for a minute at a time a few times daily. But it worked and served me well for 5 years. I have now upgraded to the TP-Link AV2000 and it is far superior without disconnects and blazing fast
