Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training, Etiology and Assessment of Behavior Problems

If you are a professional dog trainer or studying to be one, this is THE book to have and refer to. It is extensive in its research and presentation of how to train, and everything related to the study of the canine. Highly recommend.

I'm studying for the CDBC and starting my Masters of Science in Animal Behavior & Welfare. This book trio is a must for any serious behavior student.

These are science-based textbooks, not written for the average pet owner or layman. However, if you're a student of behavior these are an absolutely required series of reference books.

Sadly, when this book arrived, it was severely dented on the top edge. It looked as if someone whacked it with a small crowbar. Both front and back covers were indented at least a half inch. The dent does not impose on the text, but does ruin the esthetics of the book. As a result, it has been banned from the coffee table (oh, the horror!). The contents are excellent. At least that which I have read skipping through the chapters. It is dense reading geared to animal behaviorists and dog trainers. If you have the time and the doggedness to read this book, your dog will be glad you did. Oh, it is volume 2, which presupposes you have read volume 1. Do your self a favor and start with V1. There you will learn the terms and language of the behaviorist and everything else you need to understand when you read V2.

Delivers as advertised. Researched based information on assessment, analysis and intervention planning for dogs and owners. Academically oriented presentation, I've run across several words that I wasn't familiar with, nor was my dictionary app. That said, its an excellent book with content that matches its title, and well worth the effort for those who want to delve into some depth on the subject matter.

I liked the book to train my puppies.

Required reading for professional trainers

This book has a pretty cover too, although it is a blue cover unlike the previous book I purchased which had a green cover. This book also has several pages with lots of writing on them.

O livro é ótimo, chegou bem rápido, porém veio com avarias na capa , provavelmente por mal manuseio. Acabei ficando com o livro mesmo assim, porque levaria mais de mês pra devolver e receber outro . Espero que a Amazon possa considerar uma compensação pelo ocorrido.

The book arrived in perfect condition. The price for this book regardless of seller is outrageous. As a professional dog training, I can't justify the price for this particular book. I have several other books by James Oheare, pat Miller Dr Ian Dunbar, Dr Jean Donaldson are far better in animal behavioral information and price is way more reasonable
