Handy little guide!
I've found this guide to be an excellent way to identify the dragonflies I find, both for use while in the field, but even more so for those I photograph. The scans they use are crystal clear and they've made them as large as possible by only showing the inner half of one set of wings....since their wings on each side are mirror image of the other, this works well and was a clever idea. The information about each species is succinct. Be aware that the authors have used the English word "Dragonflies" to mean "Anisoptera" and there are no damselflies in this guide. I hope they make one for the damsels next!!

dragonfly ID card
Quick Reference Publishing has produced a high quality waterproof folding card depicting 40 species of common dragonflies in Texas. Texas hosts approximately 160 total species of dragonflies and nearly half of the 327 species known in the U.S. A good dragonfly book of the Eastern U.S, (east of the Rockies) will be a good backup for the card. The card displays good, sharp images of males and females of each of the 40 species. Status, time of year, size, location, and habitats are included for all species.A good light field card that will fit on a side pack or back pocket.

Dragonflies
Would recommend this pamphlet to everyone who is interested in our beautiful dragonflies. Purchased several, one for my Mother, one for Great Nephew and of course one for self. It is good to have as reference.
