Excellent Pizza Peel
This is a very large pizza peel, handy for anyone who is preparing a large pizza. The key factor in using any pizza peel is to be sure that the dough was properly prepared before it is transferred to the peel. This is best done by setting the dough onto a large, deep, amount of flour (mixture of semolina, corn meal, ordinary flour), turning it upside down, to ensure that both the bottom and top are well coated with flour. During stretching you have to ensure that you have plenty of flour to ensure that the pizza is coated. This coating, rather than flour spread onto the peel, is what will prevent the pizza dough (without the generous coating it will stick) from sticking to the pizza peel. It is for this reason that whether the pizza peel is made of aluminum or wood makes no difference. If you prepare your pizza dough after you have placed it on the pizza peel, a large one like the 16" model will give you plenty of room. What you don't want is for your dough to droop over the edge of the peel. For storage purposes I drilled a hole in the wood handle (parallel to the plane of the blade) and made a hook out of very stiff wire which I bent into a hook. The manufacturer ought to do this in my opinion.

wider than most, great feature for delivering baguettes to Anova oven
High quality / good riveted construction and lightweight for the larger size - but delivered with 2" bent ding on outside edge where box had been impacted - hammered it out on a concrete floor rather than return - otherwise excellent product

Great, but has Workmanship issues
The plastic protective sheet is a pain as you can't take off what's under the handle connection. It's fortunate the product is not designed to remain in the oven or get hot, or this would be a deal-breaker. They should have peeled away or cut the part of the plastic protection under the handle. As a previous reviewer said, it is a great product, but has workmanship issues. The one I got had both edges of the blade's connection to the handle lifted up and had to be hammered down, and there were roughnesses on the outer edges (not sure if it's the manufacturer or Amazon, but likely manufacturer as the bag it came wrapped in was pristine). Also, the bottom edge was sharp, not enough to cut, but sharper than expected. Sanding it smooth (and sanding down the damage) caused me to scratch the bottom face, but at least the edge is smooth now.It is big enough to handle a Costco pizza, which is great, but make sure they don't cut it or it's still a pain trying to get the sliced back on after heating. The size is a small problem with cleaning, depending on your sink size, but it's a must for a large family cooking up large pizzas. Don't regret the purchase, but just wish it came better "out of the box."

Great peel at a great price.
This peel works very well, and was a fantastic price. I love mine and will be measuring my parents outdoor stone pizza oven to see if it will fit through the door of theirs so I can gift them one as well since they are constantly throwing pizza parties and even with their 3 current peels it seems that at times either the baker (my dad) is waiting for a raw pizza from the assembler (my stepmom) or the assembler is waiting for a peel. While their wood pizza peels are nice looking I hear too much cursing at certain points during the pizza retrieval process to let this continue. From what I've read around it seems that wood peels are best for getting pizzas into the oven since they have better release and steel peels are better for retrieving the pizzas as they are typically thinner, have a larger peel size, and have a longer handle.I do have to mention that even though I pulled out a measuring tape to get an idea of the measurements before ordering this peel was larger than I was expecting. It was delivered to me when my opposite set of parents was visiting (mom and stepdad) and they were laughing at the size of the box and when I pulled out the peel they initially though it was a gigantic metal spatula. Even though the peel is very large it works for my relatively small apartment kitchen, I just need to keep the counters a bit clearer than normal. So far I have had no release problems with this peel and the long length has kept my knuckles scorch free. Also, small children (and pizza naive adults) will easily believe this is a gigantic spatula and you will get a lot of funny looks and giggles.

This Pizza Peel Will Last For Ages
I owned a pizza place in a previous life and recently decided to re-live my youth by setting up a home pizzeria, using a regular gas oven.If you want to make serious pizza with a range of sizes, you will want a 16 inch square steel pizza stone/plate and a 16x16 inch pizza peel. This peel is the same as the one I used daily in my restaurant for years and it's both top quality and a great price at under $13 delivered! Interestingly, the same peel with a shorter handle is priced at around $23... less handle and more money. I like the sound of $12 and change much better than $23, so I cut half the handle off with a saw and voila, home sized pizza peel! The best way to get a raw dough onto a peel is to lay it on the peel, stretch it to size, and add your cheese and toppings FIRST. The best way to ruin a pizza is trying to wrestle it onto the peel after the above.Just be sure to sprinkle the peel with cornmeal, semolina, or regular flour before you begin, so it will slide off the peel easily when you're ready to pop it onto your pizza stone.I highly recommend this peel to anyone looking to bake serious Neapolitan or New York style thin crust!

Sturdy and well made
This is a mongo-size peel ... just what I wanted. It is big enough for a pizza that will fit on my 14 x 20 inch pizza steel. The handle itself, is about maybe 10 inches long. I wanted a large peel, but not a long handle since I'm just using it to put a pizza in my regular oven. It seems like I read some reviews saying that the wood on the handle was rough--the wood handle arrived very nice and smooth--no problems at all. The metal neck and the metal rivets are all very sturdy. Although it is large, I was happy to find that it still fits into the upright cabinet in which I store my sheet pans. Having this peel will take my pizza game to the next level. (I owned a wooden peel in the past, but for ease of getting underneath the cooked pizza, a metal peel is the way to go--that thin edge can't be beat.)

Buena
Muy práctica pero se raya fácilmente y no deja que la pizza se deslice so re ella para colocarla en la piedra del horno.

Why the paper sticker
Everything about this peel is great except the sticker. Why do you have to put on a paper sticker? It took a long time to remove it and all of the residue completely. Other than that this peel is as advertised.

Sturdy, large surface, compact
Excellent pizza peel, handle not too long, large sturdy aluminum paddle, secure construction should last a long time. This might not be the best choice for a super hot wood-fired pizza oven due to the short handle, but it is ideal for the appliance pizza makers.

Awesome pizza paddle
This paddle is perfect, its more solid than some reviews suggest and i have tried different topping, also i thought initially that i took the handle too long, but when the oven is hot the body hair can burn even you're not that close.. and IT just hurts eyes, so stay as far away as possible!
