They are called Turkish figs and I have had very good luck using them in recipes. However. they are distributed from a company in New Jersey. That's all I can tell you.

Are these certified organic?

I can only go by what the package says. The package says they are organic, vegan, non-GMO, kosher. I doesn't say they are certified organic. They do taste really, really good and my package was very fresh.

are the figs supposed to be wet when you open the pouch? The package says "dried smyrna figs" but these are definitely wet!

I recently purchased 2 packages of the figs. They are moist nut not wet. They were probably the most delicious figs I’ve ever purchased!

A healthy sweet treat with no added stuff

These are amazing. Soft. Large. Moist. So much different and better than all other dried figs I have had which all are dry and tough. Get these and you will not be disappointed. I have them every night now as my desert. I’m vegan and so not eat sugar so these really hit the spot.

A winner for flavor and texture

Some of the best, juicy, tasty dried figs I've tried. I have been enjoying figs for over 35 years with my breakfast tea, and only recently tried this brand. I am delighted! Succulent and full of flavor. A great value with no waste. (several brands I've tried have a percentage that go to compost due to worms in the center of the fruit. That really destroys a fine breakfast tea!)

Sour batch

I've bought and ate many packages of these because I absolutely love them. Well, this most recent batch is within expiration date but they're sour to the point that they're not pleasant to eat. This is obviously an item that cannot be returned so there's no solution to this issue. I will not be buying again because I'm worried the same thing will happen and I'll be out another $20EDIT: The company reached out to me and discussed options to remedy the issue. I'm satisfied with their commitment to quality and customer service. Much appreciated!
