I was really excited about this as it looked cute and I figured that it would be a little safer than using my regular exposed incense holders. Unfortunately, it is about half an inch too short to even hold a standard incense stick, let alone to burn on safely!I found this out the hard way and now have a nice little permanent burn mark on my counter and a burnt thumb and finger to remember this by... After putting the smoldering incense stick in one of the incense holes, I tried to put the top on only to have the top of the stick (still smoldering) get popped off and roll right onto the counter. I hadn't figured that I'd need an plate underneath since the whole purpose of this was that it was supposed to be contained enough to burn incense more safely. Long story short, my counter top got burned and I ended up having to use my hand to toss the still burning incense piece in the sink before it could do any more damage or start a fire!Looking inside, you can clearly see the mark where the lid pressed down on the incense stick.I'm very disappointed but extremely grateful that I noticed what happened otherwise I could have very easily lost my house and not just ended up with a damaged counter and a couple of blistered fingers!

It arrived broken but I glued it and it was fine. The holes for the incense are too wide and the incense does not stand up straight, making them lean outward onto the sides. I think that's a fire hazard but it's nice to look at so I will try to be careful to which angle they are pointed.

This is a beautiful item and catches all the ashes, however, the top piece doesn't always fit on the base
