Drumset Essentials, Vol 1: Book & CD

This is a good book for some starter lessons. Not really anything too great in here.

I have more experience with Erskins advanced books but I'm using the book to teach beginers and as aways Peter's books are great to work from. Well orginized, clear explainations, great CD.

Not really up to modern day basics.

Easy to use and in good shape

I love this book! It's not incredibly creative, but the exercises are fun and certainly challenging!

It's a good publication I assume because my son's teacher wanted him to use it, but the problem with our book was the publisher/printer had misassembled it so that some pages were missing and in their place were duplicates of other pages. After contacting the seller and publisher, I had one good copy of the set, one bad copy of the book, an extra CD, a partially complete book, a full refund and some extra money for my troubles with the bad one. So, if it were complete the first time, it would have been a 5-star transaction and product.

not sure but i didn't hear anything from students on this. Maybe, perhaps they never commented, kids being kids....but......don't think it hit the mark

Excellent for a beginner.

Deserves 4 starts, because of its clarity and usefulness.I can go through the base-level 4/4 beats using qtr notes in the hi-hat, then progress to using eighths and sixteenths, all on the same 2 or 3 pages, which really helps with how each beat change feel.I like the technical tips, like how Erskine changes hand position slightly when he switches to the ride.I would recommend this to people who are determined self-teachers, or for those looking to teach someone for the first time.
