However, I had to fill to the top of the fill plug because it started making noise and was obviously not filled enough. It took 5.5 quarts of fluid total. I have Bilstein level, 2.1" in the front, no lift or blocks on the back. The cover looks great and is a nice/functional upgrade. I also used the recommended LubeLocker for 9.75" Differential Cover Gasket and (12) 5/16-18X3/4 Stainless Steel Hex Serrated Flange Screws, Flange Bolts 304. Installed on a 2011 F150 Platinum: 100k miles. Old fluid was clean, and the rear end looked perfect inside —no shavings or sludge.
