Only use them before and after holiday as it seems to prevent prickly heat so not used for prolonged periods. **Q: What are the health benefits?** A: I have bought this supplement before going on holiday. I believe it helps to keep my skin healthy or at least in better condition after sun exposure. Also I think my tan stays on for longer and i do get nice bronze colouring. I usually start taking these 2 weeks before going away. **Q: It says 47 mg of carotenoids, but the ones specified only add up to 7.5 mg. What are the other 40 mg?** A: try contacting solgar they are very helpful. And it was only when I stopped taking these that I realised just how much I used to rub and scratch my eyes habitually since I was a kid (I thought rubbing itchy eyes was normal). I tried a different brand of Beta Carotene and my eyes would get dry and itchy and then I'd start rubbing and scratching them again. Went back to this brand and my eyes are back to being good and I haven't had to use eye drops or anything since. I didn't even know it was good for that!!!
