Awesome quality for the price - seems well made, decent leather and great style. Only aesthetic downfall is the loops for the chin strap ..... I’ve cut them off so not an issue.

Hand made, genuine leather

I absolutely LOVE this hat. The leather is fantastic - thick, tough and great quality but with a nice soft-smooth texture. (Note that the leather inside the hat and on the underside of the brim is just the raw backing layer of the leather, there's not a second layer of leather stitched on with a smooth side facing out like some hats - you'll need to leather-treat it for waterproofing.) Good stitching, and there's an extra flap of the same leather (finished-side facing inwards) at the front of the hat to help it keep its shape and prevent sweat from staining through to the outside. The brim is thick enough that it holds its shape nicely, and it feels like it may have a steel insert. The hat is a little heavy because of the thickness of the leather, but you get used to it, and it doesn't breathe much so it's best for cooler weather (not the depths of summer, you'll bake - canvas Barmah hats have a similar look and are better for the heat). I put some Leather Honey on the hat inside and out, which made it slightly darker, but the leather absorbed it evenly and is now water-repellent. The chin strap is the only thing I'm not thrilled about, it's just a ragged strip of rawhide and it twists up, but it has a sturdy adjustable plastic clip to snug it under your chin in windy weather - I may replace the rawhide with some nylon cord, but it does the job for now. IMPORTANT - I measured my head carefully based on the seller's instructions and the sizing chart said I need a Large, but when I received the hat the Large was several sizes too small. Like, impossibly small for an adult. It perched on top of my head and looked ridiculous, and even a family member who usually wears hats in a Small couldn't get it on. I returned it and wasn't sure if I should go XL or XXL, but the Large had been SO small I went two sizes up to the XXL (keeping in mind the sizing chart on the site clearly said a Large was my size, and I usually take a large in Barmah or Tilley hats). The XXL was very slightly too large, but I don't think an XL would have fit. I kept the XXL and simply put a couple of those round dense-felt adhesive tabs for the underside of furniture legs on the inside back rim of the hat. They gripped the rough/raw leather on the inside of the hat nicely and made the hat fit perfectly, and the bonus is that the tiny space they create at the back rim lets a bit more air in to keep the hat cooler. I couldn't be happier with this hat - fantastic quality at a pretty much unbeatable price for this kind of leather (I paid $54 Canadian), it's super-comfortable, should last for years, and I get compliments wherever I go on how great it looks. Highly recommend it, as long as you can get your sizing right...

I've been looking for a leather cowboy style hat but not necessarily in a cowboy format...more along the lines of an Aussie outback like Crocodile Dundee or one like Indiana Jones style. Surfing the lightening deals this one popped up for about $31...Leather, made in the Australia and NOT made in CHINA. It's 100% , all leather, and I couldn't hit the buy button quick enough. So I paid for it and sat by the window waiting for the UPS truck to arrive...I was like a little kid on Christmas eve wanting to see Santa Clause. The hat arrived in the amazing two day Amazon delivery time., which still blows my mind how they do that...Anyhow the box arrives and I open it up remove the hat from the plastic bag and I am immediately blown away by not only the appearance and style but by the superb quality and workmanship of this fantastic hat. Now, I am known to be real fussy and anal about things albeit buying or even building things myself, but I just found competition. The hat is what I could only say as perfection in quality and workmanship. It is made by CB Hats of Australia and is hand made. The company has been in business since 1969.. This hat is so well made and the stitching is absolutely perfect, no wavering or stitching running here and there. Inside the hat in the forehead area is a smoothed almost saddle like piece of leather that the forehead rest against, a well thought out design. There are three vent holes on either side of the hat that allow for air movement/venting. Theses holes have brass like rings to add to the beauty and quality of this hat. The chin draw string is a stretchable cord which can easily be removed if one chooses to do so. On the outside of the hat around the brim is the famous signature accessory to the hat, the leather woven laced dressing that really makes this hat stand out and be identified as an Outback Aussie hat. I tried to measure my head circumference to make sure I ordered the right size. A little tough doing it using a yard stick so I opted for the ole use a piece of string thing..lol. I came up with about 23--1/2" which equated to an XL size hat, so that is what I ordered. It is just a little on the tight size but since it is leather and after breaking in should fit fine. Now, when I wear this hat, I may not look like Crocodile Dundee even though I am good looking like him, tough as hell like him, but I lack the accent and acting experience....but I've got a hat like him, just not the money like him. Glad I picked this style over the Indiana Jones type of hat...I highly recommend this hat...it will not disappoint. BUY IT!!!!

Bonne taille, vrai cuir de qualité et très belle finition sont à remarquer. Je verrai bien sûr avec le temps mais je n'ai pas de crainte.Très satisfait. Je recommande.
