Not as good as the first
Even though it's not quite up to the 1st one there's still a lot of laughs. Good to have the as a companion to the 1st one.

Not as good as the first movie, but do like the treasure hunt theme
This movie is a classic, seems a bit forced and goofy compared to the original. But the treasure map and following the clues is a fun aspect. I liked this one better as a kid, but as an adult the first one was clearly better.

A classic even though it isn't a masterpiece
Fans of the first City Slickers might either love or hate this movie. While the first movie was more of a character study about midlife crisis and the meaning of life with humor intermingled, the sequel doesn't take itself to seriously.Jack Palance is once again brilliant in the sequel, and he makes it all come together.

This is like the first one, where it has a humorous and adventurous plot with the exception of certain content ...
Overall, like the first one, this has a pretty interesting plot. But just like the first one, the only thing I didn't appreciate most about it was how crass it was in a number of places. At least it didn't seem near as vulgar as the first one, though the first third to half of it still had some pretty unrefined humor along with an actual sex scene, even though at least it was between a married couple of the story. The only other most unrefined scene that I believe was borderlining between feeling humorous and too crass to want to watch with my family was where Daniel Stern's character takes a dump behind a rock and gets stuck on the rearend with a large cactus but upon seeing one just following thinks that a rattlesnake bit him there, therefore the other guys come to his aide and Billy Crystal's character come to agreeing to be the one to suck on his backside to siphon the poison out, which fortunately is able to be averted upon discovering that it was just a cactus spike. At least we only see some partial nudity in that scene, but you hear a few uses of "sucking on the one's ass." That is the or one of the final scenes of what I found to be too crass to still be family friendly even in terms of tasteful humor. At least from there on, it gets way more clean and entertaining with every challenge that takes place leading up to where they finally find the gold. Like with the first one, It would have made a great cowboy and adventure comedy even with heartwarming moments that it had if only had it not been marred with a good deal of bad language and sexual references and jokes. Plus, it bothers me to see that men like Duke and his brother who believe in integrity (as something that doesn't get revealed until this sequel) would ever spew out any swear words without shame. If this all would have been left out, it like the first one would have made a pretty funny, heartwarming, even adventurous story.

Almost on a par with the first film...
Although most comedies fail in either storytelling or true comedic value, CITY SLICKERS II maintains the feel and fun of the first film in almost every way. Although the storyline may not have the weight and originality of its predecessor, the film still doesn't feel forced upon us. It seems to have a natural outflow from the events of the first film. The characters that we liked so much in the first are back, and we're not disappointed. Filled with heart and good comedic exchanges (not to mention some hilarious bits), I believe this film to be above average for its genre. -Sean

Come and get me
One of the rare occasions where a sequel is just as good if not better than the original. With a few cast changes mostly for the better I think, the key 3 still make this movie equally entertaining! I would love to see a City Slickers 3!

Get rich and happy quick
Music carries the film until the punch line ending in Vegas and then you have to listen to the end music all the way through. Everyone can related to the depressed Billy Crystal getting happy over a windfall.
