Cesar Millan Original American Illusion Collar Training Collar & Lead

Cesar Milan does seem to take a lot of criticism in the UK for whatever reason. This collar is excellent though. It is much kinder to my dog than a standard collar, as it allows me to give short quick corrections. Rather than have her pulling on the lead and having the regular collar putting pressure on the neck for longer periods as you attempt to lead the dog. The collar in essence is a slip lead, with the rest of the collar controlling the position of the slip lead. This ensures the lead is situated right at the top of the neck. This in turn ensures when you pull on the lead the dog's head is pulled to the side diverting the dog's attention away from whatever it was fixating on or pulling towards. Therefore a smaller shorter correction is only required. Short corrections followed quickly by releaseing the tension on the lead is better for the dog and the owner and leads to calmer walks over all. You should watch the Cesar Milan technique of a short quick correction to pull the dog's head up and to the side, to best use this lead and ensure the best experience for you and your dog.

The collar arrived within 7 days which is amazing coz it came from the U.S, whereas stuff in england can take weeks!! but the collar just doesn't work, maybe on a smaller dog, but on my german shepard it really doesn't. I had such high gopes for the product because it's created by the dog whisperer and he's awesome and all, so I thought that it would work but it doesn't, ny dog just doesn't care, it was an exspensive collar aswell I should've just taken her training, it sure as hell would've been cheaper. If I were you I'd just save your money and take your dog to a training class!!

Absolutely brilliant as long as you know how to use it (ie ur whole attitude, the way u walk, talk) can’t rely on the lead to do the work for you, this changed a dog that used to have to be held with 2 hands as dog was pulling so hard to lead being held with 1 hand with occasional moments having to grip lead, but this is also only a training AID this is NOT a full time solution, for best results u have to put effort in and keep the effort going after the training period. Great product and even the dog loved it 👌👍

Baxter was a stray and has been with me for four weeks now. He is around fifteen months old and appears to be a Staff/ Mastiff cross. Untrained, other than to cower at a broom. All sorts of other issues, including straining on the lead. Tried a "perfect fit " harness. All that did was to stop him wriggling out of his collar. This is my fourth day using this lead. On first blush I though it was just a glorified choke chain. I had tried chokes on my Boxers years ago. Threw them away as being to harsh, verging on cruel. Since the first day there has been a sea change in Baxter. He will strain, but it is about half or less of the force he used before. In the first week of him moving in he had had me off my feet a couple of times and managed to crush my finger, such was the strength of the boy when he darted off after a rabbit, squirrel leaf whatever and the slack in the lead between me and he was taken up. At least one third of our walk now sees him trotting beside me with no strain whatsoever ( I do use the reward method of training ) and this cleary adds to our education. When he darts off there is no real force in him when he gets to the end of the 10m training lead. Nothing like it was before. I can only imaginge it's the feel of the double collar around his neck's where the "Illusion " part comes in. I think he feels more under my control with this on. For sure he has not choked nor shown any sign of discomfort when he has come hard up against the limit of his travel, sometimes still quite abruptly. When that happens he just looks rather confused, then resigns himself to calming down. Yes, I give it five stars because it's working for me…. Now all I have to find on Amazon is the magic wand that establishes recall, not sitting where he is not wanted and calmer demeanour when socialising with other dogs.

Good collar what a pity it's the wrong way round for walking your dog on English roads. If I were to walk the dog facing oncoming traffic he would have to be on the outside of me. Not a safe position to be!!!! Am going to email Ceasar Milan direct and ask him if they can manufacture the collar the other way round for the British market. Have now got to find someone that can alter the collar so that I can use it safely.

This product took 8 days to arrive, not bad being it's from the U.S. Right now to the nitty gritty! My Bernese Mountain dog is a huge 8 1/2 stone bundle of fur who will not behave on the lead AT ALL! I purchased the large size (biggest you can get) and it only just fits, so if you have a bigger dog, forget it. Now, me being the same weight as my dog, and having spinal problems I have difficulty controlling him, he is also only 16 months old so a typical arrogant teenager who will not listen. He often takes me for a drag around the park. I have tried many other contraptions and none have worked but this......... Now, although he pulled, he didn't use his 8 1/2 stone to pull, I'd say more like 2 stone. Yes he tried to run and yes I had to use my full strength when he tried to do his mad flit, but he wasn't happy because I was able to gain control within milliseconds. By the end of our walk he was trotting along side me just as a dog should, yes he did the occasional pull but I felt I had him under control. This is the first time I have returned home without having to go for a lay down due to back pain. I truly think I have found my answer, yes I thought it was on the pricey side but if it continues to work this well I'd pay double just for the joy of walking my dog instead of being dragged. I can't say if it will work for all dogs but if, like me, you have tried everything else out there and are at the end of your tether (pun slightly intended) then this collar is a must. Well done Cesar Millan, you have one very happy customer and one very disgruntled but controlled dog :)

This collar keeps the "slip collar" at the top of the neck. This I can't argue with but, it doesn't and can't work as a slip collar because once it tightens it can't untighten until you stop walking and loosen it with your fingers. The fact that the "slip" part goes through 2 separate webbing loops and the slip ring, there is no way it can do as it says, unless you want your dog to have a tight collar on for the length of the walk once checked unless you physically loosen it. It really can't work as well as a check collar but for the fact the check collar doesn't stay where it is supposed to. I think this really doesn't do what it's supposed to do, and a full refund ought to be forthcoming.

This collar & leash are shipped direct from Cesar Millan USA, something I was unaware of on ordering, so expect a couple of weeks for delivery. Has a 30 day return policy & a 90 day warranty (imo should be a year considering the price) Small leash for close control with heavy steel dog clip & made of heavy nylon. The collar is also made of heavy nylon and features plastic fasteners with plenty of room for adjustment for bigger breeds. Has a loop that fits over the dogs head and becomes a slip chain to clip on the leash. Solid construction, looks and feels like it will last for a couple of years. Now to the whole point of the device...I have a 2 yr old German Shepherd who is dog aggressive and behaves like a wild animal while outside. He has adjusted to the gentle leader and halti, his neck muscles are so strong that he just pulls like mad and has eventually beaten these control methods. So it was with some trepidation, and as a last resort, that I decided on the illusion collar. Don't ask me how it works exactly because I dont know, but it has stopped my dog's pulling by I'd say 80%. He is wary of putting his full power on now! and walks pretty much peacefully by my left hand side. I'm pleased with this purchase Cesar Millan has delivered on his claims. imo this collar isn't cruel like some people say, my GSD is in no pain.
