Very good quality on the item I received. Everything tabs together nice and tight. Nothing floppy, nothing too tight. Of course, YMMV. The transformation is fun and quick with enough steps not to be simple, but quick and, after the first time, very logical. Maybe not a toy that someone could eyeball and work out the transformation easily.I like the "battle worn" paint application, though I know that some don't. I understand it's removable with some work and some solvent.Solid toy that I think both an adult collector and probably an older (8+) child would like.

To say that this figure’s bot mode is impressive would be an understatement. Articulation is some of the best seen in a basic retail (non-MP, non-3rd party) release. Also, you’ll notice fewer gaps in the arms and legs. Space is filled and the plastic just FEELS like better quality than the previous recent incarnations. Vehicle mode can go either way. Either you like it for what it is trying to be or you absolutely dislike it for how different it looks from the usual truck mode. I like it, personally, but that’s partially because I’m imagining how cool it would look with a trailer attached to it. Transformation is just complex enough to be enjoyable and can be done without instructions (with careful handling, of course). As for the weapons, there’s the standard Ion Blaster and the axe/shield weapon. The axe works as a weapon but not much as a shield aesthetically. The Ion Blaster is serviceable and looks similar to the iconic version with a few little tweaks. Overall, this is a darn good Optimus here. If you’ve been on the fence about this line, at least get this Prime to have on display.Side note: The boxes on these figures look fantastic. Totally keeping mine.

I got this for my son. The quality is good and he Loves it! He's happy it's complicated but not super much so to the point that he would need help. The price was amazing and colors are great. He's happy!

I bought this for my 10-yo son. He said“I like you can use his accessories to make his axe into a shield or a drum gun. I don’t like how hard it is to transform his axe.”
