It definitely took an adult to put it together but when it was done my grandkids had hours of fun playing with it. You can make several different types of runs but the instructions are not in English, therefore you have to look at pictures to put it together and just hope it's right. I myself tried but found it too complicated, my 26 year old son did a great job but it did take him about an hour figuring it out.
