Cupid and Psyche

I have loved this book ever since I would check it out weekly in elementary school. Having this back in my life is so wonderful. The artwork is so incredibly detailed and beautiful, as is the story. I think that the art would be stimulating for any age. 10/10 recommend.

What can say about this book? well lets see. For starters i am now 23, and i saw this book when i was in oh about 3-6th grade. just when this book came out. And the libraian would read this beutiful tale to us, and after that i new i loved greek mythology and art! I grew up ofcourse knowing in memory what the name of the book was. Until one day i stumbled upon it again (and when i mean stumbled i mean really, i tripped over it at barns and noble) i was with my cousin and i picked it up. and the girl told me that it was a timles tale. i right away had a flash back and said yea, your right. So i got it. what im trying to say here is that. Buy this beeutiful book. kinuko's drawings are classic. And it will be a fantastic addition to your library. This book Is gorgeous!The author does a wonderful job of retelling the story of the myth of Cupid and Psyche, but the most wonderful thing about the book is the illustrations! I own many of the books that K.Y. Craft has illustrated, simply because they are such a joy to look at. Words can not really describe how beautiful these pictures are. They're always very colorful, and full of detail. I could probably spend hours just looking at one of them. This book is great to have on the bookshelf for the kids, but it's one that adults will enjoy looking at, and reading as well!

I bought this book for my daughter and read it prior to handing it over to make sure it had appropriate content for her. She's 12. I read it out loud to my husband and was interrupted prior to finishing. He said I couldn't give it to her until we finished because he wanted to hear what happened next!!! So, it's a great story but I feel it might be best for 12 years+. The message is nice and a beautiful love story!!! The pictures are gorgeous!!!

Very nice re-telling.

I knew a tiny bit about the Cupid and Psyche myth when I began reading this version. It's a great lesson in trust and patience. Also, another beautifully illustrated book by Craft. I'm terribly excited to own it. I think this book will appeal to readers of all ages. That said, being this is the fairytale version, perhaps I'll dig deeper and read more about this great love.
