Abner & Me (Baseball Card Adventures)

Invent Baseball, ,that is. Turns out the guy wrote three autobiographical books and never mentioned the game once. He probably never played. But he was a General in the Union army at Gettysburg, and that's where Stosh meets him. Is it exciting? Is it dangerous? Is it worse because his mom is with him? Well, what do you think? Loved this book. It's crammed with history and drama, including a bit of the history of baseball, which really was played in those days, but wasn't exactly as it is today. Close enough for Stosh, though. This is my favorite of the Baseball Card Adventure series (so far.) Go for it!

I bought this and a couple of other books by same author to give to my grandchild's teacher; she has a lending library in her room.

Finally found books my son will read on his own. He loves this whole series. Fun and educational.

Great book! My 10 year old grandson loved it! The book provided quite a bit of history regarding the civil war.

I have always done a lot of reading and enjoy TRUE STORIES especially. So far I have found that most of the True Crime writers are a group of their own and all of them are very good at what they do. The books at Amazon are very good books and most of them are quick reads.
