Noisy, but Works Well - Model is Correct
This is quite noisy, since it spins at 7200rpm, but it gets the job done. Headphones on make it not as noticeable. The model number on the actual serial/model number sticker states: ST2000DX002; but when I registered it on the Seagate website, it showed the model number here: ST2000DXZ02.I upgraded from an old 4TB 5900rpm from 2014 and it was a vast-improvement in multi-tasking, read/write speeds and alleviated the bottleneck that I had. I have an overkill computer for gaming, but I was still having issues w/updates laggin my computer until I restarted or if I kept the computer on for the day. Tabbing out was also an issue and/or havin Chrome open. Once I installed this and used a fresh install of Windows 10, all of those issues were gone.I'd recommend this product over a SSD (Sata and/or NVMe) for gamers, since gaming isn't load heavy and doesn't require a massive amount of read/write speeds for general gaming. Now, if you're lookin to get big into video editing or something that requires a much more powerful rig, while writing/transferring huge amounts of data, then go w/the SSD/NVMe.You can watch Benchmarks for comparisons on YouTube. Most games don't load immensely faster on SSD due to the low amount of data transferred between the HD and RAM. Large music/video files are a different story, though, if it' what you're lookin to do. The price-to-gb ratio is far better w/SSHD, while still gettin fast speeds. Also, if your internet isn't fast enough to utilize the SSD/NVMe drives and you're only gamin, then it'd be a waste of money for somethin you won't see much of an upgrade on, regardless.

massive improvement to load time and fps stability
This has to be one of the best things i could of done for my pc with the budget i had. Lots of space, good write speeds, and soon as i transfered a MMO i was playing over to it the load times where 2-3x faster than before. in larger cities in the game where there where loads of people i was lagging before and now it handles it alot better. My guess is from the ssd part being able to have all the npc's ready in advance. Great hdd for a person on a budget and cant afford to drop a ton on a large capacity m.2 or other style of ssd.

Fits perfect. Runs strong.
I was hesitant to purchase this drive as most boast a promise solid state drive speeds with this form of hybrid mix. I was not sorry. Easy installation and transfer of files was quick and clean. Although this hybrid drive is faster than a Hard Disk Drive, it does not perform up to the hype, but neither does it fall very short. Maybe two seconds or three behind a standard solid state (not to be confused with the NVME M.2 drives. No hybrid or SSD can match PCI transfer rate of a M.2 when forced to use a S-ATA III connection, imo.). I considered another 1TB NVME M.2 for $110, but 2TB for $60 was a steal.

Excellent drive
It was easy to install, a little trickier to get my old drive copied to the new one and have the partition take up the entire drive. PC Mag recommended Macrium Reflect Free, and that certainly did the trick. I was able to copy the partition from the old to new, and expand the new to fill the drive. The biggest gains have been on starting and shutting down Windows 10...it boots like a rocket. Remember, the drive needs to decide what programs you use the most to fill the SSD portion...so give it time to work and decide. Certainly it figured out Windows, and some favorite games.

It is hybrid SSHD which is a mix of SSD speed with the reliability of mechanical hard drive.
For the price it is decent and being enhanced with Solid State with mechanical backing it is a great universal all around choice if you don't want to go all out with a SSD system. Performance wise this drive is better option for a budget build and the temps never go over 80 degrees. Now the cons. The first SSHD was a dude it got about 200 degrees in a few minutes and just stopped working not sure what the deal was but i returned it. The replacement came quick 1.5 days so i was up and running less then 30 hours later so YAY! but now i am having issues with this SSHD and not sure why, you will hear it spin down while using it for example The Division 2 will pause for 2 seconds then kick me to the desktop, i figured it was the game itself as that game had bugs galore but patches were not sorting the issue. I still getting kicked to the desktop randomly from several games so i ran the Seagate "Seatools" and everything comes back OK so i moved this SSHD to my brothers PC and the games crashing to the desktop for him to and the SSHD just spins down on its own with out notice while being used as you can hear it and i don't know why so i have decided to go with another brand and gonna RMA this one then likely just shelve the drive and use it for a back up or something.Other then that a great budget build SSHD but don't use it if you have sensitive data it will crash your APPS.

2tb hybrid for cheap!
Bought this drive for storage in my gaming rig. The price was nice with me being on a budget and I've already invested in 2 ssd's that have filled up quick so money was a little tight. So far i have no complaints with this sshd. It's simple to install and not to bad for speed compared to a hdd. Loads are faster than a standard hdd but not as fast as my ssd's but again this is simply for storage of less load intensive games and software which it works well for. So far I'm very happy with my purchase

It seems to be a good buy!
I did a great deal of research and this seemed to be a good choice for just about everything, price was decent, it’s very quiet, since it’s a hybrid, pretty fast for the same reason and most importantly to me, it’s said to be dependable. Dependability is the top of my list, I believe. There’s few things worse, than a very premature, crashed drive. So far, so good. As long as the status quo stands, I will definitely buy again.
