What ia the purpose of the rinse? Since it letters is it not the same as the shampoo?

I don’t think that this alone would do a good job at cleaning your hair. It is supposed to be akin to if you did a simple ACV rinse after shampooing. It just helps with any excess build up.

Is this good for dry hair?

I would say it is good for all types. I have dry hair but get oily roots and it works good for both. Also has a very pleasant smell !

I've been told that shampooing daily is not good for hair. It was suggested that I alternate between a shampoo and a hair rinse every other day?

You can definitely use this rinse on days when you don't want to shampoo :)
