DaCool Insulated Lunch Container Hot Food Jar 16 oz Stainless Steel

I did a ton of searching for a good thermos - my kiddo was tired of sandwiches and hates school lunches. This little thermos is a game-changer! I heat it up with boiling water as recommended, warm the food and it's perfect eating temp by lunch time (approx 5 hours). The whole process takes about 7 minutes in the morning while we're making breakfast - I don't even bother drying it, just let it sit upside down for a minute and its hot enough that the leftover water will mostly evaporate before I fill it. I find it easiest to use my food scale to weigh out the leftovers the night before so I always know I have the correct amount - it easily holds around 400mls. The first couple times, I heated the food too much and it was too hot for him to eat at lunch! There's been a couple times I've gone to clean it after school (10-ish hours later) and the leftovers are still tepid. Cleans up quickly and the included spoon is a nice touch. The seal can be removed for washing and is very good quality. He can open it himself (10yo) easily as long as I don't crank the lid on super tight (it doesn't need to be, I rate it super highly on being leak-proof). We've had it for a couple months now and use it every school day, it still looks like new. 10/10 would recommend! **tip - make sure to clean it every night, it gets smelly quick if left overnight with scraps/leftovers. Just a quick hand-wash and air dry overnight. That's in the instructions, and spot-on. Make sure to not let that happen! It does still clean well, but I imagine if left for several days, it would start to affect the sealing ring. Side note - We've never tried it with cold food, only hot. I'm interested to see how it would perform with like - ice cream or a smoothie if primed with ice first! That'll be a spring/summer thing. :-)

I purchased this insulated lunch box for my husband, who often works demanding 8–16 hour shifts. He absolutely loves it! This is actually the second one I’ve purchased for him because it’s been so reliable. I pack his meals in it (a good amount of food fits in there), and even after 10 hours, the food is still warm—not piping hot at that point, but definitely far better than eating a cold meal. If he had a standard shift and ate within 4–5 hours, his food would still be hot. The heat retention is impressive. I hand wash these and love that it comes with a spoon. I also like to add cute stickers to make it more personal. I did notice that our older one has a few dents—probably from my husband dropping it (LOL)—but aside from that, it’s held up really well and continues to perform just as expected. Highly recommend this lunch box for anyone needing dependable insulation and durability for long workdays.

I really like this thermos, we’ve been using it a few months now since it was a Christmas present for my daughter- age 10. I find the spoon is a little too stiff to unfold for her ..or generally as a parent it’s too painful watching her try because she’s probably trying to unfold it the wrong way. - either way she’s my gift to society so I digress. The thermos does the trick hasn’t stained the inside or even the teal outer at all - and there has been plenty of tomato soup in it. Soup stayed very hot 6 hours later at least. I prefer to fill it with scalding hot tap water to warm the stainless steel while I pretty much boil the soup in a Pyrex glass measuring cup in the microwave. It’s one of my mom tricks… you’re welcome. It holds an entire 19oz can of Progresso Hearty soup easily. It hasn’t spilled in the lunchbox, didn’t smell weird when we opened it brand new- doesn’t retain any funk stink after washing a weeks worth of winter vacation forgotten nutrition out of it. My kid has put plenty of vinyl stickers on it so no one else in the family would be caught dead borrowing it. The surface holds the stickers, hasn’t chipped or scratched. Im impressed enough. Love the color and size. Holds a full can of "Chunky" soup or Spaghettio's. I put the hot food in at about 7:30 am and it's still perfectly hot by 12 noon. Steaming. The problem? The heat suctions on the lid and it's not so easy to open. I have to experiment with not tightening the cap so much to see if that effects leakage. But overall I'm happy with the purchase. Handy spoon as well!

They are fantastic. My daughter uses them everyday, no spills, warm food and survived already a year! I am super happy

I have bought many different insulated containers for my kids to be able to bring a hot lunch to school. It seemed like nothing actually worked until I got these! I am so happy with this purchase and wish I would have found these sooner. I am able to fix my kids hot lunch in the morning around 6 am and at lunch (between 11-12) they are able to eat a hot meal. The kids tell me their lunch is still warm, not super hot, and delicious every time. I boil water on the stove in the morning and place the canister inside for just a moment to warm it up. Then I fill the canister with the boiling water and close tight the lid. I allow the boiling water to stay in the canister while I warm up whatever it is they are having for lunch that day, and pack everything else (usually 5-10 minutes). I then dump out the hot water (the canister is usually steaming) and fill it with food and reseal. The food is usually steaming hot when I fix it in the morning, and very warm (not HOT) when the kids eat lunch. It has worked perfectly for me so far, and my kids are excited to have a hot lunch at school. The kids (ages 8, 10, and 13) are all responsible for cleaning their canisters everyday after school. I make them hand wash them. It is easy and quick and we have not had any problems or complaints so far.

Purchased this in Jan 2022, still using it in 2026. Works best for hot foods (haven't tried with cold food). The container, lid, gasket everything is still in good condition after 4 years of use (~3 days a week)

My son is in high school and let's keep it real: school lunch options are usually full of fat and far from the nutrition they preach. My son is in 11th grade and wanted to treat his body a little better but to bring lunch in my mind consisted of cold foods like sandwiches. I ordered this and another much more expensive options from a more popular brand that portions out the foods. I thought this product was better and my bougie 16 year old judged based on price - since the other was more expensive it had to be better (he has a lot to learn). Long story short we have not even opened the 3 pack of the other brands item and I wish I only ordered this one. Food stays hot when he leaves house at 7am and his lunch is about noon. He packs a healthier lunch and his friends lowkey think I'm supermom for meal prepping for him. I store in regular plastic meal prep container then we heat up in morning and put in food jar. His friends call it a "speaker" since it does kind of look like a Bluetooth one and we use it daily. I do wish it could go in dishwasher and there is already black paint from outside chipping with handwash so for that, disappointed. But love the built in spoon. Wish it would also come with an alternating foldable fork too.

Very beautiful and effective food warmer. It keeps food really warm for a long time. The only downside is that it’s not as roomy as I’d expect. Other than this, I didn’t regret buying.
