The "plug-in" end is all plasic (except for the contacts)!
I've used the previous versions of this Sandisk 16Gb drive for years for the .MP3 players in my vehicles and home, and the plug on those were fairly substantial metal, like every USB plug that I've ever seen. The casing of the plug on this "version' is all plastic I have my doubts as to whether it will hold up as well as the previous versions the weight factor on a USB drive of this configuration is not a consideration to me., but durability is. If these hold up for a reasonable time I might revisit my assessment. Also, as far as speed goes. I did not do any "bench testing", but I can't see much improvement in speed over the previous USB3 model as far as my purposes go. "Ease of use" is the same as any similar drive of this type, whatever the brand name.

Made of plastic unlike the older models
I expect the plastic on these usb connectors to break or crack with repeated use. A bad idea to cheap out like this SanDisk.

Small with respectable speed but plastic
Solid speeds in a small package just wish they were plastic. I just use them for bootable OS’s so they do the job
