Definitely 5 stars, but...
First I should admit that I haven't done cross stitch for quite a few years. However with my carpal tunneel and arthritis problems under better control now, I wanted to get back to it. However I haven't bought aida cloth in quite a few years. So I don't know how unusual this is or is not. The first thing you should knot is that the fabric is very stiff. I'm assuming at this point that it has been very heavily starched and that it will soften when washed. But I plan to use it with something to hang on the wall rather than a pillow top. So, if you want something softer, you will definitely need to test it out first. The stiffness of the fabric will be helpful when stitching. But I'm purchasing a frame for mine because i think putting it into a hoop will cause permanent distortion. Another asset for stitching is that the holes are quite distinct making them easier to see and to stitch than those of the softer cloth I've been used to. I'm not sure if that will bother me when it's stitched out and framed or not. All in all, I really like this fabric, even if it has characteristics I wish I'd known about before.

Very good basic aida
I like how the length and width counts are the same so the design is square, I used some other brands that were more expensive and the length and width weren't the same. It does have a bit more plastic like feel which made stitching fractionals a little tricky but I was able to make it work by using a thimble to protect my finger. I know some have expressed concerns about being able to dye it, I didn't dye but used fabric spray paint (Tulip brand) and it worked really well, however I didn't wash so I don't know how color fast it is, but the paint didn't come off when getting the water soluble marker off, also water soluble marker doesn't seem to come off quite as easily as it does on other aida but it does come off.

A good deal
This cloth is really stiff. I tried to tea dye it and it wouldn't take the color evenly at all. After I washed out the tea dye, the cloth became much less stiff, so I recommend rinsing it well in warm water before using it. I didn't try tea dying it again because I decided to go with white. It's a nice package of Aida cloth for a reasonable price.

Black version - Overall a Good Buy
I purchased the black version. The color is nice, deep, and consistent across individual pieces and all the pieces in the pack. Like others have said, the panels are really stiff. The fabric feels almost plastic-y in comparison to normal aida cloth. It was difficult to get/keep in a hoop, but the longer it was in the shape the more relaxed and/or set in shape it got. The size is a little smaller than advertised. My batch was 11.5 x 17.5. They are all uniform in size though, which is better than getting a bunch of different sized pieces in my opinion. I'm happy with what I got for the price, although the stiffness is a bit difficult.

Great product, great price
This is a definite value for cross stitchers! The fabric is a little stiff to begin with, loosens up a little as you stitch. However, as a rabid cross stitcher, I like the fact that the fabric stays tight in the hoop & I'm not constantly having to re-tighten the hoop. It's easy to work with, though would recommend either taping or stitching the raw edges as they do ravel. For the price, you can't beat it. You get 6 large pieces, which is more than enough to stitch several small projects per piece, 3-4 mid-size projects or one large project. Just can't go wrong with this product!

**Great Quality Stiff Aida Cloth for Embroidery Projects**
I’m really pleased with this Aida cloth set! The 14-count black fabric is perfect for a variety of embroidery projects, and the size of each piece (12 inches by 18 inches) fits most embroidery hoops nicely. While the fabric is quite stiff, I actually appreciate this feature as it makes it easier to work with and keeps my designs well-supported. The 6-piece package offers excellent value and is great for various needlework, cross stitch, and machine embroidery tasks. If you prefer a stiffer fabric that holds its shape well, this is a solid choice!

Very good Aida cloth. Just as nice as the branded one
This is a very good generic Aida cloth. It’s stiff enough to work without a hoop. And it doesn’t cut off your thread. There is a bit of fraying around the edges but if you cut it off for the final project it doesn’t matter. I would buy this again

Great as a beginner
Edited August 2025: After trying other colors of another aida cloth I've sourced through Amazon and going back to this one for a new project, I now absolutely hATE IT. 😭 It's so much more stiff than what I've been using lately and very difficult to stretch over my hoop. Because of how stiff it is, the holes are very tight, so I spend way too much time stabbing at the back to find the hole to come back through on a stitch. It is not as easy to use as the other I've been using from KCS here on Amazon. I've ordered some black from that brand to use for my new project instead and I'll probably pitch the rest of this one because it is now making me irrationally angry. I'll have to re-cut, re-count, and re-mark everything for my new project, but it's a small price to pay for not being irritated the entire time I'm stitching my new project, which I'm working on as a gift for a dear friend's daughter. October 2023: I'm a super beginner cross stitcher, only just started my second project. My first project I did on a different aida from the craft store named after a biblical male. That cloth had a looser weave which made it difficult for me to count my stitches very well, and I was constantly stretching it to pull it back tought on my hoop. When I compare that cloth (Loops & Threads I think was the brand?) with this one, I REALLY prefer this Amazon one. I noticed immediately out of the package it looked higher in quality and after stitching on it this evening, it definitely feels that way in-hand, as well. The holes are very well-defined and it stays in place really well over my hoop. I only plan on framing my designs, so the stiffness other reviewers have spoken about is a non-issue to me. Additionally, the designs I am working on are on the smaller side, so I don't foresee the curve from packaging being an issue for me either.

Material is stiff as cardboard
Value for money, may be helpful for beginners to use without a hoop. Very stiff provided you don't scrunch it up.
