FLYGRUBS 5 lbs Non-GMO Dried Black Soldier Fly Larvae - Chicken Food

The chickies love them! I bought the 10lb size for my 7 chicks. I have these to them from the time they were 5 days old and didn’t really like me, even though I gently handle them every day. Now, with these grubbies every time I put my hand out with these they come and take off running with a grub in their beaks! So cute to see the chaos when I give them these. Mine were nice and fresh, and they smell kind of like a mix of dog food and potato chips lol 😂. I’ve seen some reviews saying some grubs were burnt because they look black. I have gotten a lot of those, and I can confidently say that they are absolutely not burnt, they smell fine and the chicks still devour them like nothing. Some grubs are just darker in color than others 🤷‍♀️ (don’t be racist 😂 ) The size is really big for the price, it’s a pretty huge box (2x more product from this company for the same price from tractor supply) and they’re crispy when you take the grubs fresh from the package. Perfect treat. You might think they chicks are going to be intimidated by the pretty large size of them, but they’re hollow inside, so my chicks just peck at them and eat them flake by flake. At first your chicks might be skeptical though. Make sure you give them grit too. Must try if your chicks are a little skittish. I know this is a really long review, but I love typing gigantic reviews, because I can’t usually find a lot of feedback from customers, and this is NOT payed for by the company.

This is a great product, nice looking larvae with very little dust. Good price and fast shipping. I recommend it to all back yard bird feeders like myself.

This is my third time ordering BSFL from Flygrubs so, clearly, I’m a fan. It’s a quality product that I can TRUST contains the ingredients the owners say it contains. My girls love this as a daily treat and I know the eggs they produce are safe to eat. Shipping was fast!

I have a small flock of five hens. I had never offered meal worms as a treat so when I initially planned to buy some, I came across black fly larvae and decided to give them a try. The chickens really love them. They are a great way to encourage them back into their coop at night. My first order was with a different company which I would have purchased from again, but the product wasn't available. I was, however, delighted to find FLYGRUBS as an alternative. The problem I had with the other company was that the larvae came in a paper bag, similar to a coffee bean bag with an attached tin tie. The bottom of the bag was leaking on arrival. I was able to tape that closed, but rolling down the top and pinning it closed every time--I know it doesn't sound difficult but I ended up only haphazardly closing the top. In the humid Florida heat, it didn't seem to be the best method of sealing the larvae. The FLYGRUB 5-lb box of larvae was very sturdily packaged. No doubt it will hold up! The larvae come in a plastic bag with a zipper closure at the top and the box is sturdy cardboard that has a top flap that tucks in. Sometimes it's the small details like packaging that make the difference. I deducted one star for flavor--no I didn't taste them myself! The other product I ordered had a wonderful earthy aroma that smelled so good it almost made me want to try one! These larvae don't have the same deep aroma that those had. I noticed that they come from China. It makes me wonder how old the larvae are. In the long run, it will take me some months to go through the box, so whether the larvae are two week or ten weeks old at this point may not be all that important, they are dried after all. The bottom line is that my chickens gobble them up and the packaging is made to last. I plan to reorder when the time comes.

My girls love these. They might be across the whole dang yard and they come running when they hear me bang on the container I put these bad boys in. Not to mention, these are significantly cheaper than the grubs you’ll find at <insert farm store here>. Honestly, can’t get a better treat that gives protein, wrangles the feathered chicas, and makes you feel good. My girls are my family and this is their favorite

Wish there was more variety of bug types at this cost- but otherwise, great product We have chickens, and this is a much cheaper way to add in extra protein and "treats" than buying them at a store. Which, I will admit, does suck as I prefer to buy local when I can, but these days you have to save money wherever you're able. I mix it in with other specialties for my chickens, throw it out as scratch, and they're thrilled!

My girls just love the grubs...I ring a bell before treating them with this snack and they come running from every corner of the yard . When it's time to put them in there lot, ring the bell and toss out a few grubs and wala. I save money and time with the grubs. Thanks

Do not buy these! I have ordered multiple times and multiple times they have lost my package. They’re grown in china. LOTS OF LOTS PACKAGES DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!
