NORTIV 8Men's Insulated Waterproof Work Winter Snow Boots
T**D
Keeps Feet Warm & Dry [UPDATED for Durability (see below) on 1/22/2024]
My snow boots were delivered yesterday on a sunny, warm day. However, today we have blizzard-like conditions and very cold weather. As such, I put these boots to work right away. My rating is based upon five elements that I consider as critical for snow boots: Price, Fit, Warmth, Traction and Durability. -Price: The price was excellent for these NORTIV boots. A few years ago, I paid $100 for a pair of Sorel snow boots which started falling apart two years later. This pair of NORTIV boots cost a little more than half of what I paid for the Sorel's. In short, the Price of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Fit: Buying snow boots is always a challenge for me due to my size 12 extra-wide feet. There are not many snow boots available in extra-wide sizes. Consequently, there is some guess work and luck involved when I shop for new snow boots. Especially when there are conflicting reviews where buyers claim the same snow boots' fit is either too big or too small. In this case, I went a size higher to 13. It was the right choice for me. These snow boots fit me just right. The D Rings (vice eyelets) permits me to get a wider opening when loosening the laces, which makes it much easier to get my feet inside and out of the boots. In short, the Fit of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Warmth: Obviously this includes Dryness because your feet can't be warm if they aren't dry. I'm breaking in these boots on a very stormy day. So far we've had heavy rain and sleet changing over to blizzard-like snow conditions along with temperatures crashing from the upper 40s to the low 20s. Sustained winds are at 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph. My feet are warm and dry in these extreme conditions. In short, Warmth of these NORTIV's is a definite plus. -Traction: Being able to navigate on foot through snowy conditions is very important to me. I have a 1/4 acre property in a suburban area that needs to be cleared of snow and ice after each winter storm. To do this, I must have good traction on my snow boots so that I can operate a snow thrower, use a snow shovel, and when necessary, utilize a roof rake to prevent ice dams. I was able to get around my property in these extreme winter storm conditions without slipping or falling with these NORTIV boots on. In short, Traction is a definite plus for these NORTIV's. -Durability: I will have to update my review at a later date to address Durability. [I'm aware of all the reviews citing the rear of these boots coming apart at ankle height.] For now, I will reserve my judgement on the Durability of these NORTIV's until a later date. [UPDATE as of 1/22/2024: The recent cold snap and severe Winter weather have allowed me to wear these NORTIV's on a daily basis. I'm pleased to say that they have held up extremely well in all kinds of adverse Winter weather conditions. They are well made snow boots based on my usage of them. In short, the Durability of these NORTIV's is a definite plus.]I've rated these NORTIV snow boots at 5 Stars. I hope other shoppers find my observations useful in their purchasing decisions.

Keeps the deep snow off your socks, but not very warm
Overall these boots are well made, even though there is a slight issue on the inside of one of the boots where the rubber meets the leather. Some liner material is exposed, but the stitching seems fine.Walking my dog in deep snow at -10F over the last few days has shown the boots offer good traction on snow, but feel a bit cold on the bottom. The lining is definitely not at the arctic level I would need right now. The good news is that the sizing is very generous, so double wool socks work for me. I usually wear size 11 or 45 Euro, and these feel more like a 11.5 or 45.5 Euro to me. Great in winter for extra socks, which you will need to stay warm. Once it warms up above double sock temps, though, I won't have much use of these boots. I mostly wanted them for the slush snow season and they should do well with the rubber material up to the ankles. The insoles are a bit flat, and you feel air moving around inside the soles as you compress the heel and then roll off the front of your foot. This may change after a few more miles. Overall, I would rate the insoldes at best mediocre. I plan to put an extra set of insoles in there once it gets too warm for the double sock setup, which should fix that feel. The lack of insulation from below is something I'd point out as the biggest issue for winter use. Adding a second insole could fix that, but then I lose the second sock layer and the toes will definitely get cold in that rubber toe box. At the price point these boots are sold at, I am not too concerned. They will do OK in most situations other than the extreme temperatures we are experiencing usually for only a week or two each winter. The leather looks really nice, the laces are good and hold without double tying them. These boots will see a lot of miles with my dog this winter.

So far so good! Warm, dry, comfortable--and BUDGET FRIENDLY!
I normally wear a 10 with boots, but rolled the dice and went with 10.5 on these and I'm glad I did. I think a 10 would have worked, but these are so comfortable with my thicker socks I think it's the right choice. I shoveled snow for a few hours a couple of days ago and my feet stayed dry and comfortable on their first wearing. The suede type leather at the bottom of the boot laces got damp, but the feet stayed warm and dry and the suede was dry within a day. An extra set of identical boot laces was included also, nice touch. I may order another pair for a friend just because I'm that happy with them and I'm pretty sure my friend would love them. If I encounter any problems I will issue an edit, but I don't anticipate anything at this stage of use, but time will tell. "Go an extra 1/2 size up from your normal boot size" would be my advice, because you can always fill some extra space with a larger sock, but it's not so easy the other way when the shoe/boot is too small. Hope this review helps. Thanks to NortIV 8 for making a budget-friendly winter boot for the masses!

Excellent boot.
I was sceptical buying these boots because I was unfamiliar with the name brand and they were cheap. It turns out that these are actually really nice boots. They are comfortable, dry, and warm. I actually prefer the styling of these over some of the boots twice the price. For a day-to-day winter boot they are great.I usually wear a 9.5-10 in boots. I purchased the 10 and it fits perfect with a thick sock, and a little loose with just a cotton sock. Which is what I was looking for. They seem well constructed, but only time will tell how they standup. Even if they only last a few seasons they are still a great value for your money. I would definitely recommend these boots. They are just as good as many of the name brand boots I have had over the years.

Fantastic quality, great price
What a brilliant pair of boots. Comfy, warm and waterproof. Will definitely get another pair. Why pay label prices?
