Does the job!
This is the only chrono I've used so I can't compare it to others but it does the job. Tested it on nerf darts at home and it measured them accurately once I took it outside (not enough light indoors). Then I took it to the range (outdoors) and chrono'd every gun and round I have. It was a partly cloudy day and I had no troubles with the chrono. Although I do recommend that if you use a tripod that you secure it, a gust of wind caught the sun shades and blew it over. The chrono is extremely lightweight so it's good for transport but bad in the wind. The bluetooth feature is very nice, more handy than I expected. I installed the app on my phone, it both displays the fps and announces it verbally. It's nice to easily switch guns, you don't have to affix it to the gun. If you plan on using it indoors you will definitely need the light kit.

BT mobile app rocks
I'm using it to chrono my paintball marker and it's working out nicely. I love the iPhone mobile app over Bluetooth feature. It calls out the fps for each shot. Super easy to setup and use.... didn't even need to read the manual as it's that simple. Also, the logging and graphing feature is pretty sweet- I can create profiles for my diff markers and paint combos to track my fps & shot count. On this note, the multiple strings to record shot counts also helps to keep track of my different markers while I'm testing for historical purposes. What can be improved: Build quality- feels like cheap plastic especially the battery cover; it doesn't close tightly. But, these are more cosmetic than functional gripes. While it's nice that you can enter in the grain weight in order to calculate the Power Factor and Ft/lbs in the logs, I wish it would display the energy in Joules. Lastly, it doesn't calculate bps (balls per second) when rapid firing which some of the other chrono used for paintball features. Not a big deal but would have been gravy if this was included. Overall, happy with my purchase.

Very nice Chronograph
I had trouble getting speed readings from .177 pellets. I bought this Competition Electronics Chrono and the led indoor light system. This combination allowed me to read the pellets every time. I could tell the difference between factory fresh, after cleaning, and after lubing the piston chamber. This is now my go to workbench chrono. The star downgrade is because I cannot connect the chrono via Bluetooth to my cell phone running android 10. I have tried every trick and technique I could find. Even reset my phone to factory specs in case something was out of whack. Still no luck. It will easily connect to my laptop computer and operate flawlessly. Digital Link will connect to my old phone running Android 7.1 every time. Android 10 has connectivity issues with other devices as well, like my USB borescope, so that may be the problem. Other than that, this chrono is a wonderful item to have around. Update 06/23/2021 I contacted Competition Electronics about the cell phone connection issue. They replied same day with some things to try. In order to connect, the chrono needed to be paired in Bluetooth. Also, location services had to be enabled for the first connection. When the initial connection was successful, location services was no longer needed to connect. Bluetooth pairing still is needed. I now give Competition Electronics chronograph the full 5 stars.

This is good. Caldwell not good
I have been previously using a Caldwell that gave me trouble from day 1. With it I would constantly get error codes and have to keep turning it off and on. If I was lucky about 50% of shots would provide a reading. It took me hours with their tech support to get their app working. And then it was always buggy. i was never happy with that purchase. This chronograph has worked flawlessly and I've had no trouble with the app. My advice: Run as fast as you can away from Caldwell and buy this.

Best chronograph under $200
Used it for the first time this week. Seems to be well built, accurate and easy to use. I like how it has an app but you don’t have to use it. Will still display each number and leave it on the screen until you take another shot. Worth the money.

Was totally destroyed, but replaced with next day shipping.
I had ordered one as a gift and when we set it up and took it shooting I was really impressed with it, the fact it communicates with your phone, you put in your bullet weight and can tell it notes like the manufacturer or if you are using reloads what's tip, charge and powder you used. Bur based on the information that you provided to the app it reads your bullet speed tells you the FPS, also the energy and power factor for each shot all of which it saves on the app for you to review and it will tell you your high low and averages. It is an awesome unit worth every penny just unfortunately when I ordered myself on it shown up in a slightly wore box but with the entire back half blown off from someone having accidentally shot it. Amazon did take it back and replace it with rush shipping so they made good on sending the damaged one but they may need to check stuff that is returned before it goes back on the shelf, or maybe it was a mistake. None the less the chronograph itself is awesome and I love it, and even though they sent a destroyed one they had a new one to me the next day before I even had chance to return the damaged one, so good on them for correcting the issue.

Read about LIGHTING and how it has to be perfect before you purchase this
If you like frustration this is the chronograph for you. I purchased it for a pellet gun so less than 900 ft/sec and it's inconsistent as hell. I've wasted so much time and pellets on this pos I've considered shooting a hole through it. But here I am again wasting more time writing a review on it but I'm so frustrated I figured I'd better do my part in creating awareness and hopefully get people to avoid this thing. It doesn't say anything about "low" lighting in the description when it comes to using it but trust me it is VERY critical that it be in just the right amount of SUNLIGHT or it won't work. Yes it has to be sunlight not any other type of lighting but hey they got the answer for it buy a lighting kit from them for another $90ish so get ready to dump more money. I refuse to because it's expensive enough and I dumped enough money on it purchasing the unit itself. Buy a chinese unit at a fraction of the price of the Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX. Trust me you got nothing to loose. You can buy a chinese chrono for what Comp Elec gets for the dam lighting kit alone! Oh and getting it to display the shot string live on your phone another pain in the a$$ shows the last shot only and nothing to show you or tell you why... couple hrs of searching was enough for me. I'm not looking for graphs and all this crap simply display the string of shots live while I'm tuning on the gun. Nope that's too simple and easy I guess. I don't typically leave reviews cuz I'm not a picky person and can usually fix any issue I come across but when something starts wasting hrs of my time then I get a little salty... stay away from this junk

Wow!
So I got this to replace a Caldwell one of similar design. This is light years ahead of the Caldwell. The app is great and very user friendly with a lot of options to customize your shot strings. The blue tooth works very well. (no cables Caldwell!). Tells you audibly your fps so you don't have to watch the screen. Seems to have way less "errors" than the Caldwell. I have found that putting it out about 3 to 5 feet in front of the muzzle works best. As far as accuracy goes I have not tested it against a lab radar or the Garmin. So I have no live data to compare it to. I will say every once in a while I get a shot that seems to be high. Not way out of range (like 100fps) but enough to make me question it. I just throw that shot out of my shot string. Should have bought this one first!
