There are several features that make this little mixer a big hit as a gift for a 4-year-old little boy. First, it's just like Mommy's mixer. He even went to the cupboard to pull out Mommy's mixer and put it right next to his own to show everyone that they're the same. Second, the size and controls are right-sized so a 4-year-old (and his 2-year-old little brother) can work them. Third, it's safe. If curious little fingers touch the plastic beaters when they're mixing, the beaters stop. This gets 5-stars all around. Runs on a couple AA (or maybe AAA I forget) batteries. Battery compartment locks with a couple screws, keeping them out of reach by little children.

We got this hand mixer for our grandson who loves to tote around an old hand mixer that my wife doesn't use any longer. The mixer works great. I like that it doesn't continue to spin if he gets it into something that could tangle, like hair. However, guess what he is playing with most of the time...the old hand mixer from the kitchen. I would recommend the Theo Klein Braun mixer for any child that likes to play with kitchen gadgets. It's a good buy.

Bought this for Christmas for my kid. Absolutely loves it. My child is incredibly picky and a toy mixer that plays music would not do. Had to be realistic. Not incredibly loud, but could be rather bothersome over a long period of time. If the beaters come in contact with something, they do stop. Ex. trying to "mix" something in an empty bowl and the beaters come in contact with the bottom of the bowl.

My two year old son is obsessed with our hand mixer. He had ZERO interest in toy mixers that sang songs, or had to be cranked by hand. This mixer is very realistic. The beaters will stop if he tries to put his fingers, or sisters hair in them.

not worth the price, not complete junk but the mixers aren't lined up properly and they get stuck sometimes and won't go....buy one from Wal-Mart instead of this one

My 2-year-old can turn this mixer on/off himself. The blades stop spinning the instant they touch something (like little fingers) so I don't worry about safety, even when there are younger children playing alongside him. I worry that the whisks might get tangled in long hair, but I haven't been brave enough to try it myself!

Very cheap product.

We were so excited about this purchase. My daughter always drags out my mixer to play cook so I thought she would now have a mixer of her own. The mixer wands touch and seem to get stuck frequently which stops the mixing action. At that point the mixer stops making noise so when my daughter gets tired of it and walks away without turning it off the batteries run down. I have replaced the batteries at least twice within two weeks. And because there is no spinning action she gets tired of it quickly. So disappointed.

Meine kleine Nichte freute sich sehr darüber. Der Mixer ist sicher und stoppt wenn man die Stäbe berührt. Gute Verarbeitung. Bisher ist er nicht heil auch bei kleinen Stürzen. Sein Geld wert.
