I’m very pleased with how well they function. Following the advice from another reviewer, I made sure I pressed the potting media into the ‘legs’ of the inner pot, so it could wick up to the plant. Its adaquate to water them once per week.The pots are stable and the lime green color looks nice next to the foliage. I like the square-ish shape over a round shape because they fit nicely next to each other.The potting material works well, but I needed to buy more planting media to finish. In spite of this, I will be back to order more when the need arises. However, it seems that they cannot sustain herbs and other plants long term, so they must be replanted. The roots quickly outgrew the pot into the water and then began to rot on all of the various herbs I planted. Both my lavender and lemon balm are yellowing/browning, and I read that it is being caused by the roots reaching the water. I did as other reviewers mentioned and packed the little indentations at the bottom with the provided dirt to be sure it was all absorbing well, and filled water to the line as indicated.One plant went down first, which I could chalk up to a fluke, maybe transplant shock. I did notice the soil seemed not just moist but soaked, so had my reservations looking at my soggy dead plant. Then, the next plant died, with a third on its way out, clearly water-logged and rotten from too much water. With violets, the sturdy leaves essentially turn to mush. I’m trying to save the last plant but it’s not looking good.
