– Dermaflage Topical Filler Single Applicator for scars & wrinkles - Medium

I recently had a mole removed from my face and it's caused me huge, huge distress as it's large a deep crater. I bought this stuff in desperation whilst it hopefully gets better and it was amazing. It filled in the approx 5 mm hole and I was able to lightly powder over it. It didn't look like a perfect make up job and a little gluey but I was happy for a first attempt and it really helped me psychologically. I have since seen a dermatologist and he has told me not to use it whilst I am still healing so unfortunately it in back in the bag. I was a little upset it didn't come with the sponge thing but I obviously didn't read the description properly. For anyone in desperate times I would highly recommend this. If you have a few small acne scans I would say you are better off with topical treatments/mirconeedling/retinol etc but for any larger scars that give you mental anguish and you have healed, this stuff is a very welcome relief. Ok, so I was very skeptical after reading all the reviews, and I did read all of them. I watched about 5-10 videos on how to apply it. Not just from the Df website but normal people doing reviews. On my first go I dispensed to much out of the tube which is really easy to do. I used the spatula and mixed it, and popped on a tiny bit within 10 seconds of mixing it. You have to do this fast as it dries quickly into a silicone glob. I removed where it went over the edges of my scar, so I only left the produce in the dent of the scar and not much beyond. I then put the pad on right way and pressed it gently and did that for 2 minutes. I took it off and some wasn't dry so came off, but most looked really good. So I did a second layer just where I'd missed on the first go. My scar is about 4cms on my forehead so I am motivated to try. I have managed to have a second go and I have gotten much better at it. It is not for the faint-hearted. There are some hard and fast rules that you have to follow (I didn't have any instructions) but the videos were excellent on youtube. I have some tips which I hope you find useful: 1. Do not use the special dispensing tips - they fill up with product and you'll waste a lot. Such a waste, especially as I found that a tiny bit of product goes a very long way, and less is better in this case. Yes, the tips mean no mixing, but mixing is easy anyway. 2. immediately put the cap back on the syringe as the silicone dries out fast. 3. do not waste your money on the so-called primer like I've got an excellent sense of smell, and I believe it is just rubbing alcohol which is cheap to buy if you think you even need it. I found I didn't need it anyway, but I don't have oily skin and I washed it first. I did not apply any makeup under or over the product except for a little bare minerals powder over the top. 4. I once let it dry about 20 seconds before putting on the pad, and the imprint of the pad did not take, and it left the product looking shiny. The pad is really just like your skin, looks like it has pores and lines on it. Having said that, I did find I could use my fingers instead for small areas, by just quickly pressing my finger prints on it. All in all, it takes about 5 minutes to get it all done. I found practice makes a big difference, and really I needed about 5 sessions before I felt really good at it with a good result. I recommend watching a few youtube videos first. There is one that a lady made in Germany, very useful. She also says the primer is just alcohol. So you have to dispense a tiny amount, mix it thoroughly, apply immediately (within 10 seconds), only put the product in the dent or pit mark with very little outside, immediately press on the pad, and do leave it for about 2 minutes. Peel back slowly. Oh, and it is a bit of a nuisance to get off, I use tweezers and try to grab a bit and get it off in one go. I did not find it come off during the day or even in the shower. The colour matched me well (I got the fair) and I could go without anything on top of it. But a very light bit of bareminerals was good to blend in with the rest of my foundation. My overall feeling is that Dermaflage want to make money by selling the product at quite a high price, selling tiny bottles of primer for a lot of money when it is most likely just rubbing-alcohol (sure smells and acts like it), and the little tools and even the pad aren't really necessary. You could probably find something at home, or even use a toothpick to mix and apply. I do like the pad but that is only because I have a relatively large area to cover. So it does work, and for me is magical. Just wish that if someone has a good product that they think more about helping people understand exactly how to apply it and less about trying to rip people off by selling added bits they don't really need at inflated prices.

Good for giving confidence for scar coverage but doesn’t last long enough for the money. I’m buying one every 2 weeks at least and you can get a lot of wastage when it blocks up! I haven’t come across another product what is similar but when I do I will definitely try it. Too expensive at this price and the discount code for 10% off you get in every refill doesn’t work either!

great product but you need additional items to use it. Nib to apply and pad to smooth out.
