I am a professional photographer with about 12 years of working experience, as a reference, and I personally shoot on a Nikon FG camera when I don't shoot digitally.This film is a professional-grade medium. It supports pushing and pulling when processing in the darkroom, allowing for more advanced control over highlights and shadows along with control over the zone system. This film is also relatively easy to manage after archiving, as its plastic surface behind the emulsion seems sturdier than other films I have used from Kodak.That being said, if you need less apparent grain on your images, try using any of Kodaks ASA 100 or 200 films. The grain size is somewhat larger than usual compared to other asa 400 films out there, but it's not a deal breaker for my personal use. I'm taking in microns, so it's not extremely obvious, but you'll know when looking after development.Buy one or two rolls and try it out, I highly recommend buying only a couple at first to make sure it's what you like before buying bulk orders. This way you don't spend 50 dollars at once. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make sure you get Tri-X... *by M***M on September 26, 2015* I received 400 Tmax instead of Tri-X film (as described and pictured). Had I noticed before my daughter took a few rolls to school, I would have returned it. Tri-X is tried and true and what I used 'back in the day'. I'll make sure that's what I receive next order.Be sure to take a better look than I did and assure you get what you ordered. (I haven't figured out yet if it's the Tmax film or the newer Ilford paper that doesn't have me thrilled with her developing results. Everything's changed in the past 20 years that I've been out of the darkroom!) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ NICE TO SEE THAT SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE! *by T***E on October 26, 2014* It's nice to see that some things never change...like the good old camera film we used to use back in the day, when color anything was pricey. Since that long-ago decade, I had though that perhaps 35mm camera film, made (if not obsolete) less desirable with the advent of digital photography, would have dropped significantly in price. I see, however, that this is not the case...and that standard film is still costly. Perhaps the fact that there is a reduced demand works to cause higher manufacturing costs? Regardless, there is no doubting that Kodak makes a high quality product.
