For the canon M50 you have to put the battery in, close the battery latch and open the charger port rubber lid at the bottom and connect the power adapter through the port. A lot of the reviews had the charger base open. This was by far the worst product I have bought on Amazon. I bought it a few months and didn’t get a chance to use it. I finally decided to open it up and it doesn’t work at all! A complete waste of my money and I threw the box away so I couldn’t return it.
