Does this only go down one side of a 12ft shed/greenhouse ?

Yes. you would need to buy 2 sets for a shed with an apex roof. My shed is a pent roof so one length of gutter is all I needed, and it works well.

What is the diameter of the downpipe?

2inch roughly standard downpipe diamiter

Can the length be extended? I need 4m.

What you receive can't be extended, all you need is to buy the extras.....'gutter joining bracket' / guttering /extra wall support bracket' or two. Just be careful to get the correct width & style of gutter and support bracket.

I thought I saw 4 colours but can't find that now, I need a white one, is it available in white?

I don't think so, I don't recall seeing any other colours available
