Silk-epil 7 7-880

I was apprehensive about buying this because so many reviewers talked about the pain. But after reading several Amazon reviews and beauty blog reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. I am glad I did! The pain is not that bad. Full disclosure, I have a high pain tolerance. I also regularly wax my underarm, bikini, and lip area. I have waxed my legs but for the money, I'm always disappointed with the results. I hate shaving my underarms because they leave little red bumps from in-grown hairs. My skin is very sensitive, so I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly the sensitivity and bumps disappeared from my skin after using the epilator. As you can see from the right underarm photo, I started off with little red sensitive bumps from shaving one week prior. These were the most sensitive and irritated spots when I used the epilator. The left arm has almost no reaction to the epilator. Quite impressive! My legs are so much smoother one week after using the epilator than they are 2 days after shaving. As other reviewers point out, you might need to use the epilator more frequently at first due to hairs growing in at different times. I gave my legs another go ahead in the shower one week after the first use. I haven't touched my underarms. I tried it out on my bikini line and I think this is better than waxing. Honestly! Every time I go into get my bikini line waxed, I come out with broken skin and purple bruising. I think this is due to the length of the hairs, how hot the wax is, and how hard the waxer rips them out. I recommend using the trimmer head first (suggested in the user manual) then the sensitive head and going slowly. I also recommend a warm bath first to get the follicles soft. Then apply a cold washcloth or compress to the area after. I honestly did not have any red bumps or irritation after using this on my bikini line. Normally with waxing, I'm visibly red and sore for 1-2 days. Not at all with the epilator. Obviously, this area and the underarms are the most sensitive, but the pain is not unbearable. I did not "sweat" or "throw back shots" or use a numbing cream. Definitely the more you use it, the easier this will be. I just wish someone had told me about this device sooner! Would have saved me money and shaving headaches!

Let me start by saying this is the very first product of it's type I have purchased. I needed something for hair removal on my legs (I use it only below the knee) and under my arms and also on my upper lip. I had tried waxing as a salon but it removed the skin and not the hair. Painful, ineffective and expensive. I tried threading but it was too painful because they are (of course) there to make money and get you in and out as quickly as possible. I do understand that so that's what led me to an alternative. I will say I was very scared of the epilator at first. I couldn't understand how it could get the hair and not tear my skin. I used it and I was able to go at my own pace I started with my upper lip and between my eyebrows. After, I felt that wasn't too bad and I moved to my legs and from there on to my underarms. I don't have a lot of hair on my legs and under my arms and it was not bad at all. Over all the product is great and I also use it as a trimmer for my bikini area. I would recommend it. I have not cut myself once and it manages my facial and body hair just the way I need it.

This does what I expected and is easy to use. The downside is that it doesn't pull all the hair out just as previous reviews mention. It does take several passes in all directions and sometimes multiple days each week to try to catch them all.I just started using this but I like it because it works much better than other similar products I have used in the past. It's easier and grabs more hair on the passes. Yes, these do sting but that is because it is pulling hair out. That is to be expected. So I won't mark this down for pain.It does take patience but it works. It does seem to have removed a lot of the thicker hair possibly permanently. I don't feel course stubble anymore like I would when I shaved with a razor and this was the main reason I purchased this. What hair does come back seems to be lighter (not thick and course), but if I am going out I may need to still run a razor across my legs to make sure I get what this machine missed. Again, I just started using this so I can't say how the long term will be, but I'm impressed. So I give it 4 stars because it does what I expected but could still be better.

Based on all the reviews and everything I'd previously heard, I was expecting a painful experience epilating. However, I must have a high pain tolerance because I barely felt any pain. For me, it was a slight pull that was hardly noticeable and bothersome at all. A painful experience had been the main reason I'd been holding off buying an epilator probably for about a year so I'm glad I decided to take advantage of a coupon here on Amazon as well as a main-in rebate.As for the device itself, it worked quite well. It pulled out almost all of the hairs in several passes over the same section. The light really helps illuminate the section you're working on and show whether the hairs have been pulled or not. Some hairs don't get pulled but rather trimmed. So those ones come back in about 2 weeks as opposed to 4 weeks. I did a quick re-do on both legs and took care of anything that got missed.For me, I don't get the smoothest legs. I'm prone to in-grown hairs and some stubble. But the hair doesn't grow back as quickly. I get weeks worth of results. And I'm absolutely terrible at shaving. My skin is so sensitive and I cut myself no matter how careful I am. This gave me much better results. No cut. No more scars. Surprisingly, the next morning, less irritation. Although, immediately after epilating there is a little redness so don't do it right before an important event or if you need to leave the house and will be exposing your legs.Overall, I'm very happy I decided to get this device.

Amazon ships this item to Australia with the incorrect power plug so it cannot be charged and used. Do not purchase this product if you live in Australia. Amazon's return policy means I won't get a refund for almost 2 months as I have to pay for shipping to return to US and then wait another 2 weeks for processing

Braun Silk-Epil has been my hair removal method of choice for about 20 years. This is the 4th one I’ve owned. I would rather have purchased another that isn’t rechargeable, because I would rather it work when I need it. I only need it every 2-3 weeks, so I don’t keep it plugged in at all times. Every time I go to use it, it’s dead, and I need to fully charge it before using. So it’s never available when I actually need it, unless I anticipate needing it and charge it the day before. It works well, but the battery life really sucks. You also can’t use it plugged in.

Great product, awful delivery!I love the product itself. It’s the best epilator I’ve ever had, much less pain that I was expecting. Happy for my purchase.The delivery was awful though!! They left the box under the rain, without even ringing!! I was home all day and I was waiting for the package. I was so lucky that I found the wet box outside!

I love that the unit does it job at epilating, but the inability to use while charging was not expected, all of my other electronics can be used when charging. I'd rather it instead have an overheat safety shut-off and then resume when cooled down as it does get very hot after a while.Battery life isn't enough for me to epilate a single whole leg, so full body epilation take days rather than hours.I find it's better at shaving than epilating due to the short battery life.If you want to be able to use an epilator continuously, go for a wired model instead I guess.

I used a much cheaper "Epilady" years ago and gave up because it hurt. This one has attachments for various options and I read the manual and followed the advice provided including using the included brush to clean the machine thoroughly afterward. I use it dry on my legs with 1/4-1/2" growth and it works perfectly.
