6 years later, still a beautiful piece of furniture!
We've had this entertainment center for 6+ years now. It has survived a move across town in a truck (that a lot of other, more expensive furniture did not tolerate as well!) and several moves within the house (new flooring, carpet cleaning, etc.) and it is still solid as ever. It holds a ton of stuff - 48" LED TV, tons of BluRays/DVDs/video games, cable box, DVD player, Xbox & controllers, etc. and hides the mess of cables well! This center looks far more expensive than it was, I love the rich dark color (I only wish dust didn't show on dark wood, but ah well) it is a beautiful, durable, classic piece of furniture that cost a fraction of the price of what you could get in a furniture store! SO happy I made the purchase years ago!

Nice, Good Price, But Assenbly is Not For Beginners
It's great. Fits well in our living and fits all our things. It's actually pretty sturdy. It took FOREVER to put together. I mean a whole afternoon, evening, and than the better part of another afternoon and that was with constant work and someone who had put together this kind of stuff together a lot of times before. You will need at least two people. The delivery person was less than ideal. Just left the package in the road after it was signed for. Didn't even help get it to the sidewalk.

Awesome Product for the price!
I've had my eye on this piece for some time as I've been searching for an affordable media center for my Mom. She needed something to hold her large screen TV plus some shelving so she can display framed photos of her grandson and other family members. I was unsuccessful in finding anything below $1,000 of this size and style. When I saw this piece on Amazon, I thought I couldn't beat the price and being mindful of all the reviews, not just the cautionary ones, I dove right in and made the purchase so that it would arrive as a Christmas gift. First, box arrived intact, with only a few minor scratches on some of the pieces. Secondly, I carefully laid out the pieces according to the instructions and was able to successfully assemble the piece, by myself, within a few hours. It is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture for the price and I'm so glad I found it. With respect to the comments of the piece being made of particle board - for a piece of furniture of this size and construction, I can't see how anyone can expect to pay less than $300 and expect 100% solid wood - maybe a little unreasonable but just my opinion. The minor scratches and missing letters identifying some of the pieces was not a huge deterrent for me either. This will vary from person to person and would also depend on the severity of the damage and the degree of one's patience. The instructions are clear and if followed, you will have a lovely piece of furniture. One caveat mentioned here that some of the holes were not perfectly aligned which is definitely problematic. But I must say, I'm a young woman, not at all accomplished at anything remotely relating to carpentry and I was able to make the necessary adjustments without issue. If you commit to this purchase taking all things into consideration, including the task of assembly along with some minor (manufacturing and shipping) flaws, you will find this piece is above and beyond well worth the effort.

Phenomenal for the money.
First off, this entertainment center looks just as good in person when completed as it does in the pictures. It looks great, and only slightly less expensive looking than the rest of our living room furniture (mid level Ashley furniture, we have an end table that costs more than this entertainment center). The color is just as dark if not darker than the images show. Just about any other furniture I've seen in this shade has been called espresso, however it does have a slight red tint to it. Overall, I'm very impressed with this unit's looks. Durability - you should know what you're getting into when you buy Sauder or any other comparable brand of particleboard, build-it-yourself furniture. I don't expect this unit to survive more than one move, and chances are there will be some damage during that move. As long as they're sitting still, they're very strong. I am currently using this center for an antiquated 42" Plasma that weighs slightly more than the 95 lb weight limit imposed by the manufacturer, and so far it's carrying the load just fine. Speaking of that 42" plasma, it fits the unit perfectly. My TV has very thick (by modern standards) edges, so I'm guessing a 47" borderless LED tv would fit just about the same. Construction - All of the other reviews are right. I can see this taking an inexperienced builder 5+ hours and tons of frustration to complete. I used to work for a sauder retailer and built displays, as well as plenty of my own desks and bookcases, and it took me around 3.5 hours to complete, with a little help from my brother for about 45 minutes. You will need help. My advice is to simply be patient, take it one step at a time, and read the instructions carefully. This is a relatively challenging piece of furniture to build. Gripes - I only have 2 problems with this unit. 1) the Flimsy backing board. It's seams are pretty visible above the TV, and generally detracts from the quality look of the rest of the unit. 2) The door mountings. The first time anyone puts any weight whatsoever on the tops of the doors, they're going to rip out of the particleboard and become irreparable. Such is life with 250 dollar living room furniture. I do recommend this product, We have it in our main living room, but it's probably better suited for a secondary living area, such as a basement or family room. It was an extremely affordable and very good looking alternative to having to go out and deal with furniture salesmen.

Ok Quality, Long Build Time, Small Unit.
This item was delivered with no outside box damage and was packed well. This item has many pieces and takes quite a bit of time to assemble. It is the usual particle board with a laminated finish. Some of the wood is soft enough that the screw heads bury themselves and come out through the finish if you are not careful. This happens before any signs the screw is beginning to get tight or snug. The overall quality of the finish was just ok. One of the pieces had a bubble in the finish about the size of a pencil eraser head that was very visible on the front of the unit. Other than the builder , most will not notice it. At each edge of the pieces the laminate cover does have a small gap where the particle board shows through making a faint line that is lighter than the Dark Cherry wood color. It is hit or miss. All pieces have the lines but some show up more than others. Some pieces have particle board showing where the cherry laminate did not make it all the way to the end of the piece which is very poor quality control. I bought a wood repair marker at a hardware store to color the seams that were lighter and that made a big difference in the overall look of the unit. When you open the box, do not throw away the packing. You will need it assemble the unit. Overall for the $214 I paid the unit was ok. It was much smaller than I thought, the picture is a little deceiving. That is partly my fault, I was concerned with the measurements for the size and depth of the TV opening and neglected to look closely at the overall dimensions. This is the smallest, shortest entertainment center I have ever seen. The word large in the description is laughable.

Nice
Took me three hours to put together. Used a drill even though it said not to, couldn't imagine putting all the screws in by hand... After I put it together it looks very nice. The wood is pressed wood and is not super high quality, but for the price I was very happy. It looks very nice and much more expensive than what I paid for it. Pros: Plenty of storage space Looks nice cheap Cons: You have to be able to put it together right or you will not like it Pressed wood(but for the price what do you expect)

pile of wood
The wood on this entertaiment center is beautiful, but we ordered this item a month ago and when it finally got to us it was all broken in peices. We called to get a replacment but after calling about four times all they could tell us is that they will have to do a review to see what they are going to do! That was a week ago and after another call yesterday they still don't know if we will be sent a new entertainment center or new parts to replace the broken pieces! so here we are, a month after we ordered it all we have to show for it is the amount we paid for it dedcuted from our bank account, and a living room with a TV on the floor next to a pile a beatiful but broken wood. we hope it will not be another month before this is taken care of and we finally have what we ordered. very poor customer care. I should think since the product is already paid for and they sent us a broken product that they would do a little more then "review" the case.

Decent for Price
My husband and son put It together and felt the directions could have been clearer. The back is not a solid flat piece and looks cheap (see picture). Some of the pieces did not align so there are some gaps. From a distance it looks decent but up close there are flaws and you need to color in to touch up some areas. You get what you pay for.
