Is used as a shower step out mat, does water collect under the mat?

This bamboo wood shower/bath mat prevents hydroplaning that can cause accidents inside the bathroom. Water doesn’t stay on the top that may turn the surface slippery. Water flows down under the mat and eventually dries up, making the bathroom safer and cleaner.

what is the gauge of the plastic wire used for weaving the bamboo pieces?

I’m not 100% sure the gauge because I didn’t make it but by looking at it it looks the size of a #14 copper wire or slightly thinner. The mats are very nice and well put together. I will order more. I used them in the portable shower stall for camping and will purchase more for the bathroom at home.
