Earthquake Sound SWS-6.5X
Best of quality. Great bass. Easy installation (they fit even in tiny spaces) .Very good price. I have replaced the factory 6.5 subwoofers in an W208 CLK Mercedes. They indeed made a big difference in acoustics.

Pure thumping bliss
I paired these up with the JL Audio xd600/6 crossed at 120 hz and it is pure audio bliss. The bass is thick and rich. Is not club style throbbing bass for EDM, but for rock, funk, disco, soul, it is excellent— tight, articulate and powerful. Everybody who I demonstrate my car audio comments on how clear and tight it sounds and I get immense enjoyment from listening to it every day.The only thing to be aware of is that as other people have commented, you need to be prepared to creatively make the area on top of the subwoofer provide an inch or so more clearance for the subwoofer to move back-and-forth without hitting the grill. I accomplished this by putting a piece of wood as a spacer on the two sides of each subwoofer and then getting extra long 2 inch screws to screw the grill back in. It is completely not noticeable after closing everything up because this area ends up being entirely under the seat.

More bass than I expected
I installed thes in my 2014 428i. I wanted some "mid-bass" since my 4's don't handle bass well, and I wanted something to handle notes above what my 12" sub does. It is a case of good news, bad news. The good news is that the 2 ohm's handle a lot of bass and easily play low, low notes. The "bad news" is that they could have made my 12" unnecessary. If your 8's aren't working and your taste is lower bass get the 2ohms, pair them with an amp, and do not put the grill cover back on. They can and do, shake the car way more than I expected. If you like a bit less, maybe enjoy an acoustic guitar solo, the 4ohm might be for you. By the way, I installed them myself without the additional amp, and it sounded like they weren't there. Get a decent amp in the first place.

Worth the money!
Greatly improved bass response!...No distortion at high volumes!...Competitive alternative to BAVSound and other higher end mid base subs for BMWs....

Not good speakers, go elsewhere
I have run 2 of these off a Kicker Key500.1, set gains with my Fluke DMM to 100w RMS a piece to see how they handle better power than BMW HiFi amp (40w RMS a piece). I had to basically not send any power at these at all, they start cooking pretty bad. I have headaches when I drive from the glue burning up on the voice coils. They just dont stay cool. I also run an RE Audio XXX 12" on 2000-2400w RMS in same vehicle. The SW8s were more for 60-150hz and my XXX for 25-60hz. Either way, there is no way they could ever handle 150w RMS a piece. Not happy with these at all. I will probably buy a couple Kicker 8" L7Ts and fabricate custom enclosures under the seat for them for what Im looking for, and send those an actual 500w. Read positive things, but as an installer, I have blown 2 subwoofers. 1 was over 20 years ago on my second install for a buddy in high school. The second was because a customer insisted on me using a crummy $75 used Crunch walmart amp to try and send some Planet Audio 15s 2000w (some of the worst amps in the market). If you run an unclipped signal to these, I wouldn't push em past 60w a piece, they simply cannot handle any power. They sound alright, but after 1 minute I cannot stand the voice coils burning up. These speakers are not for me.

Great bang (literally) for your buck!
I got 2 of these to replace the factory under seat woofers in my BMW. For what it is, it really makes great bass, certainly much better then the boomy and soft sounding Harmon Kardon system that came with the car. So instead of just hearing deep sounding bass, you can now feel it. On top of that, the factory speakers can't reproduce the really low bass. From my experience, the bass rolls off at nearly 100hz! So anything under 100hz, you can barely hear it. With the new amp and these speakers, you can hear all the way down to 20hz. You can FEEL it all the way down 20hz. Of course, these will never be as powerful as a 12" sub box in the trunk, but if need as much trunk space as I can get, then these should satisfy your bass needs without sacrificing any trunk space.FYI, I paired this with a Kenwood 500W (@2ohms) mono amp and it's a great match. A mistake many people make is getting an amp to match the speakers RMS handling 1:1. However, to properly power subwoofers, you will want an amp that's 1.5x to 2x the RMS handling power. Also, if you're putting this is the BMW F30, you will need the adapters and remove the little "fins" inside the sub enclosure to make this it properly.

I had good speaker wire and went to the local hardware store ...
Purchased these to replace the under seat subwoofers in my BMW 550i. The description for these speakers is as follows:"Designed to replace the BMW factory speakers that are located under the front seats, the SWS-8X requires no modification. Simply remove the seats and replace the factory woofers with the exact-fitting SWS-8X woofers to improve the sound quality of your mobile audio." HAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, right! Installing these is a royal pain in the backside. With the existing contour of the enclosure, you need to remove all of the partitions to accommodate the depth of these speakers and that's still not enough. I added weather stripping around the lip to raise the speaker enough for installation, and as a preventive measure for rattling.Another pain is, which is not mentioned, you need to purchase a separate installation package is sold to wire them which involves cutting the existing connection off and installing spade connectors for attachment. I had good speaker wire and went to the local hardware store for the connectors and saved myself $40. The least they could do is include the spade connectors......Once installed, these speakers, paired with the Bimmertech PP82DS, perform well and provide the boost I was looking for.
