I have commented on each of the three concerns in the following paragraphs. Concern #1, Assembling. Once I opened the box, I realized that the only assemblages required were the wheel pads and safety straps. I inserted the wheel pads in the T-Bar and inserted the Push Pins to marry the wheel pads with the T-Bar. Inserting the safety straps was very easy, I held the loop up and into the wheel pad then wrapped the strap around the SMALL PAD TUBE on the wheel pad (that would be the FRONT SIDE of the pad where the mower would initially roll on to the wheel pad) and pulled it through the loop. Done! Concern #2, Safety. This probably should have been #1, but if I couldn’t get it assembled, there was no safety issue. My primary concern was how safe I would be with 500lbs, and mower blades hovering over me. After assembling the jack and raising the mower, my trepidations were alleviated. There are two locking mechanisms on the lower part of the lift (perpendicular to both wheels) that allow the user to lock the lift at three height positions (18," 21," and 26”). There are also adjustable straps for each of the front wheels to hold them in place while the mower is raised. As a precaution, it is recommended that the user places the mower's parking brake in the ON position, and chock the rear wheels once the mower is raised to the desired height. The mower is very sturdy (no wiggling around). Done! Concern #3, Operations. In order to raise the machine, I had to turn the release valve on the hydraulic cylinder all the way to the right (CLOSED) until it stopped. I inserted the handle in the socket of the piston assembly and started pumping. It first appeared that the pump was not working, so I move the mower off of the jack to see if it would rise. I was able to raise it with a bit of vigorous pumping. I lowered it and move the mower back on the jack and began a normal pumping action, and the mower was lifted to the maximum height without any problems. (The lift comes on the down stroke of the socket). Lowering the mower was easy as I removed the wheel chocks, released the parking brake, made a one-half turn of the release valve, and stepped on the foot release of the locking bars. Done! Also, there is no foot print for the jack since I can fold it down and store it on the wall of my garage. It only takes up space during use. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is well worth having if you do most of the maintenance on your riding mower.Hope this helps someone who may have similar concerns… ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works excellent, self-opens when hanging *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2020* The jack does its job exactly as advertised and is a much safer option than other ways I've supported my mowers in the past. Rolls around the garage easily and the safety straps make it very secure when lifted. One small engineering improvement could be the location of the pump/handle - as it is, the handle hits the front of the mower when it's on the lifting pads - this is made worse if your mower has a "brush bar" style bumper installed. It's not so bad that it's unusable, but it does make it so the handle only has about 1/4 the total pump distance when before hitting the bumper - VERY frustrating to have to take a thousand little-bitty strokes to get the mower lifted... Aside from that, the only other negative is that if you hang it on the wall to store it, the lifting arm will tend to drop open. I solved this problem by wrapping the tie down straps around the arm and securing to the opposite side. This prevents the arm from dropping open, but should be unnecessary. Otherwise, all good things to say - seems well built, easy to use and has a good lifting range to get clearance under the machine. If not you will have problems.Worked great the first time we used it on a Toro zero turn. Makes changing blades a breeze. Best if you have an impact tool.
