I like this card. Not all cards I've ordered from Amazon have worked. It is especially useful for older computers, since they already had small harddrives, but it can be hard to find working ones from the era.Here are some tips to get it working as a boot device on older systems.Use SD Card Formatter from sdcard.org to format the card.For booting DOS, use CHS instead of LBA in the BIOS setup. DOS 6.22 recognizes up to 2GB partitions, and older versions of DOS support much less. Especially older BIOS system setups have arbitrary (low) size limits on hard drives.For stubborn systems, use a utility called whatide to determine what drive geometry is actually recognized. Run this on the system you're trying to configure, then use the values to update the BIOS settings manually.You may need to run FDISK /MBR again after properly configuring the disk. May even have to re-run sys C: then fdisk /mbrI haven't tried this device on newer systems, because it is still easy to find modern harddrives, and SSDs are inexpensive.

It works great as IDE hard drive replacement for retro/old window 98 pc.

I absolutely love these adaptors. They are a quick, cheap replacement for IDE hard drives and work well with all size SD cards.
